Does anyone have any information on the Star Wars Weekends?

As chance would have it one falls in the middle of our trip to WDW this year.

Are they any fun? What's special about them?

How do they effect attendance? If we are not doing the SW thing should we pick another park for the day?

Thanks for the link. It lead me to most of what I wanted to know.

If you want autographs you need to get a fastpass, You sign up for any events you want to attend right at opening, etc...

And if you don't like Star Wars, stay away from the Star Tours area as it'll be a packed madhouse.

We went to WDW during Star Wars weekends last summer and I have never seen that park so crowded. It was unbelievable. We ended up leaving and coming back on a weekday. This year when we go we will be making weekday visits again. Even my friend boyfriend who is a Star Wars nut was a little overwhelmed by the crowds. We still had a great time and if you don't mind the craziness, it can be a lot of fun.

The last two times I was at MGM, they had Star Wars Weekends and ESPN Weekends (or whatever it's called). I didn't notice the increases in attendance as I'm a city dweller as it is.

We went on a Friday last year and the crowds weren't that bad.
Obviously the SW areas will be packed but other attractions were manageable.

Oh I know but there are a few select few that just don't like it. They're nuts.
