The dates have been announced to travel agents... I'm not sure if they're available to the public yet.

The DDP will be available on packages between August 24 and September 20, 2008.

Booking begins April 7th for Disney Visa holders and April 10th for the general public.

PLEASE SEE DENISE'S POST FURTHER IN THIS THREAD FOR MUCH MORE INFORMATION!!

    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

So much for quiet parks this fall...

For those who may not know what that means is if you are planning a trip for that time frame you need to seriously think about booking ALL your sit down table service meals 180 days prior to the day you need them.

When Disney offers this promo it usually means you will have a very difficult time finding anywhere to use your free meals if you wait till the last minute... or even wait till a month or two before you go... So book em fast then book your rooms with the package when it comes out.

Sorry for those who hate planning the details 6 months out. (pst DanYoung that's you bud... "Book em Danno" )

I've done this before, it's an amazing deal. The value of the free dining will even exceed the value of the hotel in some cases.

But yes, planning ahead becomes even more important in this case.

they've made their marketing impact... the fact they keep offering this means BLECH.. look forward to the Dining Plan taking over more and more.

It used to be in the 80s that Dining was one of the most unique parks about WDW... now its just expensive suckage.

So what does this mean exactly? You book a hotel package during said times and get the Dining Plan for free?

                Re: Free Dining This Fall

Ok another MCer told me those dates might not be correct (but she didn't tell me the dates the she has). They are later than last year's. I guess that we'll know the correct dates tomorrow?

halltd, you book a package that includes room and ticket (I think - we had to get a 1 day ticket but we were able to get the dining plan for the whole week). There should be info on it on the wdw site when it starts. We booked through that (but I didn't do the booking lol)

And we were able to book every place we wanted at or near times we wanted (except Le Cellier, that one was really late). Doing this offer last year was the best thing EVER, but of course the plan has changed. But free is still good LOL

Ugh. At least I won't be in the parks any of those dates (will probably be there in early/mid August though). Guess it's a good thing I usually eat at the counter service places.

Bingo! We did it last year and saved a fortune! And the parks really weren't that crowded!

The parks will still be quiet.

I had a chance to do the bounceback last year, but didn't because of the tip not being included (that does make a difference, with only one of me staying in the room - I can generally do just as well with an AP discount). If friends of mine share the room, then it's more worth doing.

~sigh~ I hate seeing this. Only because I keep trying to talk hubby into going to WDW this Sept instead of next Sept. I doubt this will persuade him.

Haha... true! I had read that you could only book 10 nights maximum. If this is not the case, we will be booking 11 nights and spending 10 days in the park.
