  • Ohana VS Spirit of Aloha --Help

I'm in planning mode for my early December trip (woo hoo). I finally got the husband to agree to try some new places and I've always wanted to eat at the Poly.

--The closest I've come to a dinner show is Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It was OK, but not really my taste . Food was ok and while it was fun to see all the kids go nuts (oh and they did), it was a bit overwhelming. I'm a little hesitant to try anything other than a standard restaurant after that.
    --No kids with us.
    --May have a vegetarian.

Would you reccomend Ohana or the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show?

Also, how much are Lilo & Stitch involved in the Luau? We have a few fans and a few haters in our dinner party.

I'd go with Ohana, just because I believe the food is better than SoA (imho).

I have done them both and enjoyed each. Two different experiences it really depends on what you are looking to get from it. I don't believe Lilo and Stitch are involved in the Luau at all, I don't think any characters are.

The Luau is a bit pricier too so that is why I have only gone once, so we go to Ohanas more. Also with the show at the Luau expect to set aside more time than just going to a dinner.

I've never done Spirit of Aloha, but 'Ohana is our favorite on-site place to eat.

Not sure how it would be with a vegetarian though.

I have been to both, and I prefer Ohana. I think the food is great, there is more to do for the kids, and its just a good time...

The Luau is nice, but the menu is limited and while the show is cool, if you are sitting in the back, it might be hard to see it.. and there is not much for the kids to do during the show...

Yes Ohana is more well rounded experience for a family (and for those without kids too) where as Spirit of Aloha I don't remember many kids.

Also, I think the OP is going in December... so I am sure at night, it gets cold out, and the Luau might not be the best place to be when its cold out

'Ohana is definitely the better choice for food. But, children love to watch the Luau show, there is singing, dancing and of course the fire show. They bring all the children to the front of the stage to teach them to do a Hawaiian Dance. The show is geared more towards family, not just adults or just children.
