We are planning a trip to visit my grandmother in Florida, which will give us 1 day - yes, only 1 day - to visit 1 park in Orlando. Which one would you recommend? But please keep this in mind - we live in So Cal and are Disneyland passport holders. My wife and I have been (separetly, but never together) to WDW and Epcot, but our son has not been to any Florida properties. Universal Studios Hollywood? Been there. Sea World San Diego? Done it. Oh, and if it makes a difference, we've also been to both TDW and TDS, as well as HKDL. So .... we are eager to know your thoughts. Thank you, and see you in the Parks. Well, one of them.

[Question] If you only had 1 day in Orlando
Round the World! Anaheim, Orlando, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong! -
Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
Normally I would say Magic kingdom, but in your case, I'd say EPCOT.Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
I actually wouldn't go at all, personally. Going for just one day would be too much of a hassle to make me want to attempt it. I'd either visit a resort for dinner or I'd go to Downtown Disney for shopping. Or both and make a day of it.It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
I would normally suggest Islands of Adventure just to ride Spider-Man, the greatest theme park attraction ever. but since a lot of the place is probably under construction, maybe not the best choice.
If I had to pick a disney park, maybe you should spend a day at Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. How old is your son? If he's the right age, he might enjoy EPCOT... or he might be really bored.
A part of me thinks you guys should go to Magic Kingdom and count all the differences, note what you like and what you don't like. That's kinda fun right?

Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
I AGREE WITH ISLAND OF ADVENTURE... THe land is one of my favorite non disney properties... This is your best bet for most unique rides that can't be found in or around California... but again I know there is tons of working being done for Harry Potter...
Disney Studios I think would be the LAST one I would recommend, as most rides and shows can be seen elsewhere (except Rockin Rollercoaster is the BOMB!)
Animal Kindgom is cool but I think San Diego zoo is better in Cali...
If it's a Disney Park, I would suggest Magic Kingdom... most bang for your buck... Or Epcot... It's the biggest park with the most to see and do...

Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
Thanks for all the feedback.
I was wondering if anyone would say a Non-Disney park. Islands of Adventure does sound good. And the Spider Man attraction gets some really good press, even out here. But the construction is a concern.
BTW, our son is 8. He loves Disney (who doesn't?), but is not that into roller coasters. He's also not big on some of the dark rides. We haven't been able to go on Haunted Mansion for 2 years! Even during Jack's visits!Round the World! Anaheim, Orlando, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong!

Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
For an 8 year old, that isn't big on fast/dark rides I would go with Animal Kingdom or Epcot. If you do Epcot, get him a passport and let him get it stamped at each country and decorate his mask in each country. If you go to Animal Kingdom they have kids programs like passport thing. Sounds like right up his alley.

Re: If you only had 1 day in Orlando
Epcot or Animal Kingdom. No way I'd suggest either of the other two parks for anyone who's been to Disneyland regularly.
A couple of things to consider:
-Epcot is more adult oriented than other parks, especially World Showcase. Will your son be bored?
-Animal Kingdom will be open the least total hours of any of the parks. Since you just have one day, Epcot gives you a full Disney day
Either choice is good. I'd let your son decide which appeals to him most.My Micechat cruise trip report, Part 1:http://micechat.com/14795-disney-wonder/
