  • [Question] Donald's Safari Breakfast - Reservation Needed?

    Hello, everyone.
I will be taking a trip to WDW this upcoming weekend and had hoped to do Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Animal Kingdom on Saturday morning. I didn't think to make reservations until now, and when I tried there weren't any available.

I have come to learn that this is one of the more popular character breakfasts, but I also know that this is one of the slower times at WDW in general. So, I'm asking, in your experience, if I don't have a reservation what are the chances we can actually get in for the breakfast? I'd hate to go there and then have to come up with a plan B, because I know most theme parks don't offer much in the way of breakfast food.

Any shot we get in without the reservation? Thank you in advance for any and all responses.

For a character breakfast, unfortunately the chances of getting in without a ressie are slim to none. So you better form a "plan B" ahead of time or just grab a bite at one of the resort food courts.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that. But it's not reservation only, right? They should take some walk-ins, no?

While most still "technically" do walk ups, the chances of anything being available are also slim. You can still try though. You could get lucky.

Last time we were there (although at a different breakfast) someone with kids came up without a reservation, and were told it'd be at least an hour and a half. To avoid disappointment, I'd definitely skip out on "just showing up"

I know the poster's date has come and gone but for FWIW, dining reservations were booked solid this morning but my wife and I decided to wing it anyway. We got to the Tusker House @ 9:45a and walked right in. There were plenty of empty tables. Perhaps Disney should start charging nominal deposits to prevent these reservation mismatches...

Re: Donald's Safari Breakfast - Reservation Needed?

Thanks for the replies. Luckily, our experience was much like jerm's. We got to the park before it opened and made a beeline for the Tusker House as soon as they let us loose. Got right in and the place was never close to full.

So I agree with the idea that people should have to put down some sort of deposit to assure the reservation. Who knows how many reservations are made "just in case" when other people actually intend on showing up.
