  • AK Lodge in November

Good evening friends! This is my first but likely not last post to this fine forum.

Considering the fact that we homeschool our kids, our calendar choices are pretty wide open. In the past we have been to WDW during April, June, and July. Looking at the weather, attendance, and pricing charts, The first week of December is looking like a viable option for us.

However, as we are considering staying at AKL this time, I was concerned about the animals not being as active in the cooler weather. Can any of you share your experiences (and/or compare to other parts of the year) about the animal activity level in December compared to the warmer months?

    Thanks folks!

Hi Native Texan (from another native Texan!)

For years I was a docent at our local zoo here in Houston (the climate is almost identical to Orlando), and I can tell you that the animals LOVE the cooler weather! In the summer they tend to hide out under the trees and bushes to keep warm, but in the winter it is party time! The winters are so mild (especially in early December) in Orlando you will not have a problem seeing them.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great choice--It is one of my favorites!
