Refill Mugs

Does anyone know about the refill mugs? I bought mines years ago and was told I could bring them back whenever.
Is there a "chip" now on the bottom of the mugs? Is there anything preventing me from using my old mugs?

BTW, I am actually on a no "pop" diet so I don't really plan on using my refill mugs for soda...but I just wanted to know "in case" I need something.

Refillable mugs are only good on the visit you recieve them. Only for use in the resort you stay in.

I assume that was an innocent mistake (in which case it's hilarious IMHO), but his user name is actually "swampymarsh" not "minion."

To answer your question, the only resort that currently enforces mug refills with RFID tags is All Star Sports. If you're not staying there, there will be no technology stopping you from using your old mug (or any beverage container, really) to get a drink at the fountain.

There are many people that claim that when they bought their mug years ago, it was sold to them as being valid for future vacations. If you're convinced that that was the case, then I guess it's not unethical to use your mug on future visits. Obviously, if you bought your mug more recently under the current policy, it'd be unethical to take advantage of the lack of technological restraints.

He's correct, nothing is stopping you, it's just a matter of ethics. I'd also like to add that at this point, even All Star Sports no longer uses RFIDs on their mugs. The ValidFill RFID mug system in its current form was deemed a total failure.
