  • Tomorrowland Purse

Does the mod retro-ness of Tomorrowland make you swoon with futuristic delight? How about a purse to show off your love for your favorite land!

This purse is a collage of stationary, playing cards, ribbon, pinstripping, glitter, stickers, paper, and glue. Boy, did it take a lot of glue...

No, I <3. She's made these purses and she's selling them on Etsy.com, a handmade craft selling site.

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

          Re: Tomorrowland Purse

Thanks, I Heart Disneyland, Missviolet, and BFJen for your kind words! Indeed, these are one of a kind originals made with my own two hands and all that jazz. This one just about did me in, though.

It was supposed to be a Fantasyland purse, but when I painted the interior, it came out too dark. So I tried some glitter to lighten it up, and realized it looked like outer space, so it was off to my craft store to find new materials. Ribbons wouldn't lay right and had to be removed after hours of painstakingly gluing them down and tucking the corners just right, but that led me to the pin striping isle at Pepboys. Never having purchased pin striping, the stuff I purchased and thought came as an individual strip in it's nice roll of three was actually one piece and I had to hand cut every little piece.

It was like this with everything. Every step of the way involved three additional steps to get there. This whole purse was a happy accident as a result of trying to avert disaster...

          Huh.

Kind of like the future, now that I think about it.

It seems I have crafted a metaphor.

Aw, Missviolet! You are so sweet! Thank you for the invite. I've been lurking around these message boards for years, but perhaps it is time to step out into the sunlight. *blinking at the brightness*
