Disney rethinking Animation
"If you build it right, they will come." - Bob Iger
"I'm not a literary person. As far as realism is concerned, you can find dirt anyplace you look for it. I'm one of those optimists. There's always a rainbow." - Walt Disney
"I don't care about critics. Critics take themselves too seriously. They think the only way to be noticed and to be the smart guy is to pick and find fault with things. It's the public I'm making pictures for." - Walt DisneyTags: None

Hmm. I'm a bit worried about Universal CG-ing 'Curious George'. But this is a Disney board. Well 'Valient' is a British-made film which has recently been released over here - it's not the most popular film in the world, but I think people have been put off CG films because of the recent massive onslaught of them, and if they actually sat down to say, 'Valient' they would enjoy it. But the people dont want to see a CG film because there are simply too many of them around. Oh my god, it makes you wonder where all the common sense is in these people getting paid millions!?BACKPACKING REALNESS

Well, I don't know if I would go as far as not trusting what Jim Hill is saying here...
But I disagree with his logic... These films are made and distributed at a cost of 2/3 of what a normal traditional hand drawn animated feature is made at... So although these films are not box office bohemeths, they are still in profit... Yes even the extremely expensive Polar Express will make a profit this christmas when it is released on DVD...
The trouble is this, can Disney rekindle it's name in quality animation with the flood of garbage sequels released by Buena Vista Home Video? I mean really... Think about it for a moment Jim Hill and get back to me when you have something really interesting to say...Check out my other blog:
