Yet another "interesting" Jim Hill article
"If you build it right, they will come." - Bob Iger

"I'm not a literary person. As far as realism is concerned, you can find dirt anyplace you look for it. I'm one of those optimists. There's always a rainbow." - Walt Disney

"I don't care about critics. Critics take themselves too seriously. They think the only way to be noticed and to be the smart guy is to pick and find fault with things. It's the public I'm making pictures for." - Walt Disney

Hmm. I'm a bit worried about Universal CG-ing 'Curious George'. But this is a Disney board. Well 'Valient' is a British-made film which has recently been released over here - it's not the most popular film in the world, but I think people have been put off CG films because of the recent massive onslaught of them, and if they actually sat down to say, 'Valient' they would enjoy it. But the people dont want to see a CG film because there are simply too many of them around. Oh my god, it makes you wonder where all the common sense is in these people getting paid millions!?

Please do not simply post a link to someone else's article with no indication of what the content may be. A post with no information constitutes advertisement for another website and is against MiceChat policy.

What you CAN do is provide some synopsis of the material and start to discuss the content right in your first post. If you want to include a link also, that would be fine. But a link alone is not within MiceChat policies.

“The press [should be] a watchdog. Not an attack dog. Not a lapdog. A watchdog. Now, a watchdog can't be right all the time. He doesn't bark only when he sees or smells something that's dangerous. A good watchdog barks at things that are suspicious.” – Dan Rather

The story is a waste of time, like most of what Hill spits out. A lot of ifs ... if this, if that, if the other thing ... then maybe ...

I don't trust anything that man has to say!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Well, I don't know if I would go as far as not trusting what Jim Hill is saying here...

But I disagree with his logic... These films are made and distributed at a cost of 2/3 of what a normal traditional hand drawn animated feature is made at... So although these films are not box office bohemeths, they are still in profit... Yes even the extremely expensive Polar Express will make a profit this christmas when it is released on DVD...

The trouble is this, can Disney rekindle it's name in quality animation with the flood of garbage sequels released by Buena Vista Home Video? I mean really... Think about it for a moment Jim Hill and get back to me when you have something really interesting to say...
