  • Disneyland doesn't want you to know...Political message in the park (mergedx7)

I found this like on boingboing.net. They make it seem authentic even though the author doesn't seem to know Thunder Mountain Railroad.

    http://www.woostercollective.com/200...oesnt_wan.html

This is something unique. I don't know how much we can trust the source (they did call is Rocky Mountain Railroad afterall). I wish that where were some different camera angles on the statue as well... but the employees in the background make it appear a little more authentic.

    Did anyone see/hear about this?

The first thing I noticed was the "extra" item in the attraction didn't cast a shadow, followed by the end line with a link to the "artists" site. I say its definitely NOT authentic.
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!

Is that woman in the second photo holding today's park map? That would be a dead giveaway.

Apparently, this is real. The guy is an artist, and usually does this sort of thing. I suppose there's a reason why there's no shadow beneath the figure - it might be a cut-out.

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy

Banksy is world renowned, London bassed graffiti artist whose artwork is often political and/or humorous in nature. He has attempted to hide his identity however according to The Guardian he is one Robert Banks [1] born in 1974[2] in Bristol, England. His artwork has appeared throughout London and various cities around the world. His street art which combines graffiti with a distinctive stencilling technique has garnered him underground notoriety and widespread coverage in the mainstream media.

That's some pretty bad photoshop. And seriously, if you're going to make a statement, why Big Thunder???

Well I'd say its possible. It seems to me somebody else must have a photo of it; in which case I'll buy it.

the reason no see or here about this is because it did not happen

The sculpture, consisting of an inflatable doll dressed in an orange jumpsuit with its hands and feet manacled remained in place for one and a half hours before Disneyland's security staff shut down the ride and removed it amid fears over public safety.
think about it for a minute. DL is worried about public safty so they leave it up for 1 1/2 hours. Another poster said

everything leaves a shadow in the day when the sun shines on it. look at the shadow from the fence just behind the object.

where are all the people looking at it. trust me if this really happened there would be many people at the fence looking

With all the MC people who go to DL everyday some would have seen it or posted something on it.

                  just did not happen

The shadows are questionable, but Banksy is a real artist as fjhuerta pointed out. And he's been known to leave spray-painted images and other representations of the Guantamo Bay prisoners in various places across the globe. It wouldn't surprise me if he did this at Disneyland. Banksy has installed his own altered paintings into world-renouned art galleries including the Lourve, which often include messages on society, politics, or the art itself. His personal installations have gone unnoticed by gallery staff and security various amounts of time ranging from hours to days.

He's also a renouned spray-paint artist who has left his politically and socially-charged marks on sidewalks, buildings, billboards, and other surfaces across the world. And Bansky has also commented on world events and pop culture icons including Mickey Mouse and Ronald McDonald before through his art work.

Gafitti is NOT art, and those who spray it are NOT artists. They're criminals.

I think this is a composite photo hoax with no connection to Bansky.

Bansky was in the news this past week for tampering with 500 CDs of Paris Hilton's latest release and sneaking them into the racks of 48 record shops around England.

He has several warrants out for his arrest in Britain and has built a cultish following, in part, for being a wanted man.

It also seems that ALL of the CM's working that day would have been talking about it. Guantanamo bay inmate in the Big Thunder Area? I really think we would have heard from some CM's before the photo showed up.

                              Maybe some CM's could clarify?
