Cancer in one form or another has touched each of us one way or another.
Whether we ourselves were diagnosed with Cancer or a loved one has been diagnosed.

I have known many people over the years who have battled Cancer.
Some fought and won their battle with Cancer, the others were not able to beat their Cancer.

I keep thinking there must be a way that we can fight this together. That we can band together to find a cure for Cancer. too improve treatments, too improve facilities and make advances in education, early detection, and improved success rates.

Last year I found a way to help.
I gave a weekend to Crew the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer In San Francisco.
I can't even begin to express what a life changing weekend that was for me. I met so many people there, each with a different story and reason for being there. I met couples walking together because one or both of them had been Diagnosed with Breast cancer (Yes, men can get it too) I met a husband and his young boys cheering on their mommy who had just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I met Mothers and Daughters, sisters and brothers, Husbands and Fathers all walking and sopporting one another.
It was a very emotional thought provoking weekend. I watched a large group of Breast Cancer survivors Walk into closing ceromonies together, arms linked. I watched very young children run up to their mommies, who were wearing survivor hats.
I went into this last year wanting to help, This year I am determined to make a difference.
Though the members of Crew are not required to fundraise I would like to, and I am hoping you will help. I am setting my personal goal at $500 to start. anything you can contribute as a tax deductable donation would be greatly apreciated. Every little bit helps.

Together We Can Find A Cure!

    Thanks for your support!

This sounds wonderful... good luck with your crew work in July. I did the California AIDS Ride 6 years in a row ('95 to '00), and the SF/LA LifeCycle in '03. It was a 7 day bike ride from SF to LA, and it was truly incredible. I know of the great experiences you talk about.

I made a (very) small donation to your account... I hope this will start the ball rolling for you. It isn't much, but I also know when I was fundraising that some people were hesitant because they couldn't give big amounts. But it was all the little amounts that made the difference! I would say "no amount is too small!"

And for also I remember how grateful we were for the all the wonderful volunteers that made up our crew. They worked harder than we did riding our bikes for 80 miles each day!

    Good luck!!

Thank you so much, I don't even have the words to express my gratitude.
I am so excited to be doing the walk again this year. It was so fullfilling and amazing, to see so many people pull together to help and support each other. And this year my goal is to be able to not only help the walkers during their journey but also to help in the fundraising efforts.
So Jonathan, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
