  • Advice to the young you....

If you could travel back in time and talk to a younger version of yourself, what advice would you give yourself?

I'd tell the younger me not to waste so much time and money on all those other girls. Just hang on till you meet your wife and spend the excess money on other things.

Just say "no". That is all.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

I would say "It truly does not matter what anyone else thinks about anything."

I'd say girls are cute. Then again, if I didn't go through the obligatory straight phase, I wouldn't have met my hubby and that would be a shame.

Ok, re-inventing my past might not be such a good idea after all.

I'd tell myself..."the less you say the better off you'll be."

            And I love this expression:

In your 20's, you worry about what people think of you

In your 30's, you don't care what people think of you

In your 40's you find out people weren't thinking of you at all since they were busy thinking about themselves.

              Nice topic!

Dear Self at the Age of 21,

Date, have fun, don't take it all so seriously and you really do have a LOT more time to settle down. Don't be in such a darned rush! :beg: I'm BEGGING you!!

              You'rs Truly,

                Take chances
                Don't be afraid
Follow your dreams - however crazy they are
                Listen to your inner voice
                Sleep with more guys
                Don't drink so much
Remember, your parents had problems that you don't need to take on
                Be fiscally responsible
Never miss an opportunity to go somewhere new.

In the end the only one you'll have to answer to for your regrets is yourself. Follow your intuition and go for it. A wasted life is alot more frightening than the perceived dangers of the risks you might take.

                          Two things.

First, keep in mind that life is nothing more than a series of disappointments followed by death. Don't let it get you down.

Second, Mom appears to have been right about not listening to music too loud. Hey! Can you hear me?! :music:

I would have told myself to listen to my instincts more and leave my ex when I first thought of it.
