  • National Nurses Day Today

To all nurses, I wish to express my gratitude today (5/6) especially.

Today is recognized as National Nurses Day.

My wife is an RN, and she has helped save my life at least twice.

We have many dedicated nurses that are a part of thius MC community, and this thread is meant to be one of gratitude for what I know can be a highly stressful and thankless job.

No amount of money or benefits is sufficient for some of the stuff I know you guys have to put with.

    Again, thank you all.

My grandmother was an RN.....so, I want to thank all the nurses out there who take pleasure in your jobs. My father has been in the hospital a few times, and each of his nurses were just the best people. So kind, and patient. Just wonderful people. I have met a few nurses that I wondered why on earth they were nurses if they acted like they couldn't stand people.....but, the good nurses have always outnumbered the bad.

Thanks for your dedication, patience, kindness and caring!

When I was sick last fall, Kathleen (a saint, IMHO) travelled 70 miles each way to see me in Burbank on an almost daily basis, while still working her 12-hour shifts in Oxnard and Ventura. And she always made it a point to bring goodies for the nurse's station on my floor.
