  • Pixar gives 10-y.o. girl her dying wish (merged threads)

Pixar grants girl’s dying wish with home viewing of 'Up' | pixar, up, movie, home, show, girl, cancer, die, huntington, beach - News - OCRegister.com

As is usually the case, good for Pixar. They won't even comment on the story it appears this is just a human interest piece generated by the family reporting it out of gratitude towards Pixar.

After a family friend made frantic calls to Pixar to help grant Colby her dying wish, Pixar came to the rescue.

The company flew an employee with a DVD of Up, which is only in theaters, to the Curtins’ Huntington Beach home on June 10 for a private viewing of the movie.

Colby died about seven hours after seeing the film.

Poor little girl. I'm so glad Pixar was able and willing to do something like this. It's heart warming to see some people (and corporations) still care.

I am happy that the girl was able to see the movie before she passed. It was wonderful of Pixar.

How wonderfully caring of John Lasseter and his staff. Stories like these touch my heart and leave me fighting back tears. God bless little Colby Curtin, her mother Lisa, and their family friend that did everything they could to connect with Pixar...and succeeded.

It amazes me at how many people can see big corporations as heartless, yet they do something with such kindness.

I salute Pixar for having a heart.

I just wanna cry now. For a 10 year old to have to endure that is just depressing. I'm glad Pixar was able to act so quickly and I think it's even better of them to downplay what exactly when on. It's not about them. It's about the little girl and how she was able to go having got her wish. Though it's still really too bad that she couldn't actually SEE it.

This is also being discussed in MiceChat's news section. A very sad story.

Wow. It's amazing that Pixar would do something so fantastic. It goes to show how much they care and that they actually have hearts in a business world full of greed.

I think that's the thing I love most from Pixar in this story. They didn't do it for PR, they did it because that's the kind of company they are.

As if Pixar weren't amazing enough...

                              http://www.ocregister.com/articles/pixar-up-movie-2468059-home-show.htm

A young girl dying of cancer was granted a wish to see the movie UP at her home, just hours before she past away. Pixar flew an employee to her home ASAP with a copy of the movie for her to view.
