I think he means Traditional Hand Drawn vs. Computer Generated Imagery.

Yup that is what I mean. I wanted to know which style you like better if you had to choose one.

I don't prefer one style of animation over another. I just think the animation style that is used should be indicated by the story you want to tell.

Just remember without a well written Disney Villain, there would be no point in the Heroes and the Princesses. Have you hugged a Disney Villain today?

I love the idea of watching moving hand drawn paintings. 2D rocks.
But I must say 3D 'Toy Story' stuff can be cool, too.

Just to let the people who like 2 and 3d, this is a multiple choice thread and you can vote for both of them.

I have a preference for 2D, but would rather watch a good 3D movie than a bad 2D one. Prime example: Any Pixar film versus Cinderella II. :yuck:

To answer the second question, I don't believe 2D is dead...yet. It's definitely not what it once was, which is unfortunate.

                Here's some food for thought...
Would Lion King be any better or worse if done entirely in 3D? Would Finding Nemo be any better or worse if done in 2D?

Not meaning to hijack the thread with this question, just trying to make a point that I believe it's the story that matters more than the medium used to tell it.

I don't have a preference one way or the other.

If the strory is good I'll watch it.

From Wallace and Gromit to the latest PIXAR film, to Myazaki, to the lastest disaster from Disney (well, scratch the last one):lmao:
                    I'll watch it.

I work in 2D animation, so my opinion is biased.:ap:

Pixar is the only good CGI. I hope Disney fails miserably with Chicken Little. I saw the trailer before Corpse Bride, and I was like, "No thanks. Not even a rental."

I will always have a place in my heart for the old fashioned 2D animation. After all, its what I grew up with. But I love the new CGI stuff. I'm a fan of all things animated, no matter the style, but I think computer animation will begin to be used more and more. Even the 2D stuff will have computers input into its design.

Wow. So even if Chicken Little blew you away, was twice as good as all of the Disney-Pixar movies put together... wow.

Traditional animation is extremely beautiful if the right amount of work and creativity is put into it, but it can go round, but so can CGI. Robots and Madagascar both looked visually, well, c*** - but the detail in Shrek and Monsters Inc is amazing. My fave traditional film, based on the actual animation alone? Mulan. Same for CGI? Shrek 2.
