Any real estate moguls out there??

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but it seemed general enough, lol.

My family and I are planning to move to the Southern California area in the very near future (sooner rather than later) but I am having some serious difficulty finding "affordable" places. I understand that this is LA/Anaheim/expensive but coming from Northern California it seems like everything is triple the cost as far as housing goes.

Now I know there are deals out there, but 99% of them don't advertise in any paper/internet/medium in order to keep their costs down so it makes it difficult to find them without being in the area to search them out.

So does anyone here have any suggestions as to what my options could be?

If you know of a place near you that is below $900 a month for a 3 bedroom place, please let me know.

It doesn't necessarily have to be Anaheim perse, maybe some of the surrounding areas as well.

Yes I know... I was expecting responses like this... but I also know that there are sleeper deals out there that someone has to know about. Like I said, it doesn't have to be the heart of Anaheim, it can be in surrounding areas.

You might find something at that price...but you wouldn't want to live there. I'm 63 miles away from Disneyland and there isn't anything up here at that price either.

Look online, WestsideRentals.com, Craigslist...honestly, unless you know someone who will rent you their place cheap because they like and trust you, don't look for any sleeper deals. What landlord rents for half or less of what the place is worth?

At the $900 range, you should be looking into Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. The neighborhoods at that rate won't be the best but you might find something decent. The further you get into the desert the cheaper it gets. The problem is there are few decent jobs out there and you'll be driving far to get to most places. On the other hand, you can always hope for a double dip recession, which I think is coming. Housing prices still haven't fallen far enough to be in line with employment and wage figures.

Try Palmdale/Lancaster. For that money you're either going further east or further south than LA/Anaheim, my friend. Esp. if you want anything that resembles decent.

Not possible. not even close, and it sucks. It's insane what it costs to live here.
