  • Nov 11: Armistice Day - Thank You Veterans!

Armistice Day is here, or known in Canada as Remembrance Day, or Veteran's Day in the US. Armistice Day marks the end of the first World War. Unfortunately not many veterans are with us anymore from that great battle, and the focus is turning on to those that served during other conflicts that followed the "war to end all wars". I just want to thank those that served, those that made the ultimate sacrifice, and those that are still currently serving overseas.

    Thank you!

    Lest we forget.

    In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
    Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

I have a nephew in the Army who was just shipped to Afghanistan. Godspeed Ryan! And to all those still serving our country and to Veterans you are appreciated.

To all who are serving and to all who have served, Thank You.

I have 3 family members who are Military, one who recently returned from deployment and another who is currently on his 3rd deployment. May God keep them all safe.
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

If you can, attend a Remembrance Day ceremony or Veterans' Day event today. I'm heading out in a few minutes to attend a Remembrance Day ceremony and to observe the moment of silence at the 11th hour.
