  • Ever got pulled over by police at Disneyland?

    Hey guys,

Have any of you guys ever got pulled over by Anaheim Police while going to or leaving Disneyland?

For the last several months or so, while I was leaving the park, I saw about 4 cars that got pulled over on Disney Way.

Almost got pulled over by one while exiting the parking structure yesterday. My brother saw one of the cop holding a radar gun, so my bro told me to slow down because I was attempting to go fast before the light turns red on Ball road.

I will be pissed off if I was a tourist or a first timer to Disneyland and got pulled over by the cop. Besides, it could be an expensive trip to the parks. For example, a speeding ticket cost maybe 200 bucks in addition to your Disneyland tickets you just bought.

What do you think about about the 14 MPH speed limit in the parking structure? IMO, I think is silly. come on! why don't round it off to 15

    That's a major bummer.

But if you are breaking a traffic violation then you should get a ticket for it...

No, but I did total my car on Disney Way this summer...a nut ran a red light and I smacked right into her with my Excursion full of kids. Lucky no one was hurt, but my car was a total loss...Dang, I liked that vehicle. (It was paid for, "sniff")

Oh my god! The same thing happened to me on July 27. I was dropping off my sister and her friends to go to Disneyland. I got rear-ended on Disney way near GardenWalk. My trunk of my 2007 lexus was so mangled and I was planning to go to Pala Casino that day too. Instead I have to go home and call my insurance company.

If you're speeding, especially to just beat a light that's about to change red, you deserve a ticket and as such, should be prepared for that consequence. There were many a police officer on WDW property, and probably hundreds of tickets handed otu to tourists out there. On public Anaheim property, police have the right to speed gun and ticket you if you're going excessively fast.

The reason the 14 MPH is what it is, is so that people remember it. It's peculiar, which makes you think about it, rather than just hearing another 15/20/25 MPH limit. Obviously you still haven't forgotten what it is, have you?

            1. A violation of the vehicle code is a violation, whether you are a tourist or a seasoned veteran of the Park. If you violate the law, you deserve a citation. Can't afford to pay the fine? Don't do the crime!

            2. The 14 MPH speed limit topic has already been beaten to death, so I'll keep it short and sweet. It's a mental thing. Folks see 15 MPH and think, yeah, yeah, yeah. Folks see the 14 MPH sign and really do think about it. It sticks out in their mind and hopefully, they will observe it.

It certainly did with you! Hence this thread...

That sucks. My front end was really smashed, but it was barely drivable, so we met with the police, traded info and I carried on to Mickey & Friends Parking lot. The car was making this crazy loud grinding noise as I pulled into the parking lot, but I didin't care...I was on a mission.
My daughter and her friends were super embarrassed cuz of the terrible noise and the smashed car...we really looked silly driving it, but its always great fun to embarass my kids!

Disneyland or not, laws still apply whether we like it or not. But one thing that bugs me so much is red light runners. My backyard oversees a busy intersection and I can't tell you how many times I've seen cars "floor it" to beat the red light....even though it's been red for like 2 seconds. I'm not sure about SoCal, but here in the Bay Area a red light "unofficially" means stop after it's red for 3 seconds. My light goes green and at least 3 cars are still going on their left turn! When that happens I just go as usual (of course I won't hit them), one time I totally scared this lady who ran her red light and I already started to go (again she was far enough from me that I wouldn't hit her, but it was enough to scare her).

Sorry for the tangent, but it's just a pep peeve of mine. That and people who can't signal. I mean is it really that hard to flip signal stick? :verymad:

ok yeah that's like the same exact thing at all the intersections around my old high school when everybody is getting to school.

Y'all might want to keep in mind that they have those nasty cameras around at most of those intersections as well.

As someone who also lives in the Bay Area, this is a big pet peeve of mine too! It's always happening!

Anywho. The law is the law, if you can't follow it, then yea, you should get a citation for not following it!

the pet peeve aimed at those who dont use turn signals? I agree. come on now folks. those little thingies on the side of the steering wheel? they are made for a reason.

its really not a common courtesy situation. its actually a safety situation. mainly the safety of the driver(and the passengers) and other drivers(and the passengers in the other cars of course)

                          long story short:

got a turn signal? the answer is yes? GOOD!!!!! USE THE DAMN THING

Trying to run a red light - and actually running it - is extremely dangerous. Too bad you didn't get a ticket.

And its a minuscule difference between 14 and 15... 14 works for them. I'm always extremely careful on Disney property because they actively pull people over - as you now know.
                            Good morning, son
                            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                            It was pain
                            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

It's 14mph instead of 15 because 14 is an irregular number for a speed limit (which are usually multiples of 5) and so you're more likely to notice it and then more likely to abide by it.

love reading a thread about tickets and having a google ad to accompany it (the ad says they'll give you advice if you get a ticket....funny).
