I'm not the worlds greatest animal lover. Nor am I one to be the most sentimental when a pet passes away. But today thats all differnet for me.
My familys dog Baron was a saint Binard (like the dog in Cujo or Bethoveen) and he was truly one of the best dogs in the world. This dog would lay his head on your lap when you were sick just to be by you. He would always always always follow no matter where you went just to keep you company. I could lay my head on his stomach and fall asleep with him and wake up with him licking my forehead. He looked out for my littlest sister and made sure she stayed out of trouble. He would play in the snow and bring you with him to do it.
Last saturday Baron started to stop eating and drinking. This went on for a couple days, where he would only take the water by eating little bits of snow. He wouldnt move or walk. Yesturday I was finally able to take him to the vet and see what as wrong. They found a lump on his stomach and decided he needed emergancy surgery. They removed the lump and said he was going to be alright. But somehow during the night Bear (his nickname) just got too tired and passed away.
I have never felt this way for a pet, dont get me wrong i lvoe all my pets but Bear was expectional. I my heart died a little when I found out and thought I would tell the world here how amazing he was, for his memory.
I love you Bear.
