    Woman Lands Face-First

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- A skydiver hits the ground after having trouble with her parachutes, and the whole thing is caught on tape.
Shayna Richardson fell at about 50 mph and hit face-first in a parking lot.
Although badly hurt, she survived -- and doctors treating her injuries discovered she was pregnant. Several surgeries later, Richardson said she and the fetus are doing fine.
Richardson, 21, of Joplin, Mo., was skydiving in Siloam Springs on Oct. 9 when her main parachute failed. The accident was videotaped by an instructor who jumped with her.
She cut away her primary chute so her reserve could deploy, but it didn't open all the way. She spun out of control, heading straight for the asphalt below.
"I was sure I was dead," she said as she watched the video. "There was no question in my mind. Seconds before I hit, I just let go of my toggles and said, 'Alright, God. I'm going to go home now. Just don't let it hurt.'"
She survived the impact, but lost six teeth and had to have one eye removed and put back. She said she is in constant pain.
Would she ever jump again? "Definitely," she said. "I still love it. I'll heal, and then I won't be broken anymore. And they say I should look the same. So, I'll do it again."
Wanna watch the video???'s been a long time.

With luck like that, she should play the Lotto.

Of course, if she knew that she was pregnant before jumping, she should be beaten with a stick.

On the morning news, the headline was:

"Woman discovers she is pregnant as a result of skydiving accident"

Sounds like skydiving may be OK, but those skydiving accidents can cause pregnancy!

My wife theorized that maybe she ran into a stork, or crashed into a cabbage patch.

Latest birth control: Don't skydive! )

What is, is... What is not, is not.

I don't ask for much... Just a few little things!

        Extra effort yields extraordinary results!

I read in another article that she did not know she was pregnant when she jumped, that if she had known she would never have gone up in the first place.

That eye thing sounds pretty nasty.

Re: I will not be sky diving in Arkansas!

My dad has done many jumps and it finally came to an end after he hurt his arm on a bad landing and had to have a screw put in his arm. He also broke a leg on one landing also.

So needless to say he won't be jumping out of a perfectly good airplane! On one of his previoous jumps he landed on top of a house because of a misdrop by the pilot of the plane. He got down from the roof and the owner gave him a ride back. The owner stayed at the airport and watched the rest of divers come down.

This lady is very fortunate!! I'm sure she could have her teeth fixed, and hopefully she will recover quick.
