Hi, y'all. My username is Gemini Cricket (it used to be DisneyLad and before that Doc). You can call me Brad - Mr. Cricket if you're nasty. (I was going to post this in the 'Newcomers' thread, but I got long-winded.)
I used to follow DIG (Disneyland Information Guide) and then MP () and their discussion board MousePad. I was very new to the internet and did not know that there were other freaks out there like me who liked Disneyland so much. When a good friend of mine was banned from MP, I decided to move on from that site. I do consider a number of people there on MP friends and bear them no ill will at all. In fact, I do miss posting there. I may drop in sometime. Who knows.
From there I signed up with Fab's Board. I had followed Fab's reporting of Disneyland for awhile and admired (and still do admire) how much she knows about DL. So, I posted on her board. I moved from Fab's board not because of any drama that ensued there. I felt that there was a negativity that I was feeding into there. It wasn't Fab or anyone, it wasn't any specific thing really. There was a lot of bickering and I decided to change my thinking and be more positive about my life and everything in general. So I was looking for a fresh start somewhere else. I do hope Fab does more DL tours because I'd love to do one and ask her lots and lots of questions.
So, I discovered the Lounge of Tomorrow started by someone I admire as well. The vibe there is more positive and fun, more light-hearted. What I supported mostly was the idea that someone said, 'Hey, if I don't like where I'm at, I can do something about it and have my own place to be.' And he achieved that (with the help of some groovy cats and kitties).
Furthering how I felt about that, I decided to support MiceChat, too. It, too, was started by folks I adore. I also followed Al Lutz's reporting of DL way back when. So, here I am.
It's a fresh new start, who knows if I'll post a lot. I'm not for certain. I am thinking of fondly splitting my self betwixt two boards with one for my Disneyland ideas, discussions and general craziness (MC) and the other for my cool cat lounge activities (LoT). For how long that lasts, I'm not sure. It could last a day, I'm quite A.D.D. about things.
Did you guys watch Oprah today? Gay men married to women and these women don't know their husbands are homosexual. Gasp!
Know that from here on, I am not interested in board to board drama. MP is its own place, Fab's is its own place, LoT is its own place and MC is its own place etc. I don't really care what one thinks of the other. In fact, I don't care about what they think of me either. The point of why I got involved discussing things on a board was that I enjoyed Disneyland and could find people like me on them. I've met a tremendous amount of cool people from around the world on these 'silly little discussion boards'. I'd like to return to that feeling of goodness. If anyone wants to just have fun without the drama and do the same, I'd highly recommend it. It's good for your blood pressure and your esteem.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled silliness (you gotta move fast around here, GC is like the astrological sign, I change personalities at the blink of an eye) :
I will now offer up this monkey :monkey: to the discussion board gods. May we all find our own happiness in whatever board form it may take. [Throws monkey into firey pit.]
Hakuna Matata, you crazies like me,
Brad
