  • The Most Romantic Disney Song...

Whether it be a mother, a father, a wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, or just a crush, there is a romantic Disney song for you. Which Disney song do you feel is the most romantic, and why is it so special to you?

For me, I've always thought Beauty and the Beast was. Much of the romance of the song comes from Angela Lansbury's tender rendition of it. I think that many people see themselves as the Beast, and each one will find their Beauty one day.

    What do you think?

Beuaty and the Beast. I always saw myself as a beast and I fell in love with a Beauty.

                A Whole New World.

Because, when I was pg with my first son Aladdin came out on DVD and I watched it a TON with my little brother, who was FOUR at the time and would sing it with my little brother all the time, it was "our song". We spent a ton of time together when I was pg and even after my son was born A Whole New World was mine and my little brother's song that was "just for us".

Now he's 14 and a cranky old teenager but he still loves Aladdin

"If I Never Knew You" from Pocahontas

The lyrics are very powerful for me. They perfectly sum up what I want from a partner.

"If I never knew you, If I never knew this love
I would have no inkling of how precious life can be
And if I never held you I would never have a clue
how at last I'd find in you the missing part of me"

Now that's ROMANTIC. Add Judy Kuhn and Mel Gibson (of all people) and you can't miss. Pure romance with a capital 'R'.
What if the Hokey-Pokey really is what it's all about?

all good choices... I think "Candle on the Water" is a mention-worthy one. It was sang by Hellen Reddy and is on the "Pete's Dragon" Soundtrack.
"To All Who Come To This Happy Place, Welcome!
Disneyland is Your Land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and youth can saver the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy an inspiration to all the world.
                          "

I had forgotten about Candle on the Water.. I do like that one a lot. It has a lot of hope for the future in it. It's so positive and optimistic.

"Hellfire" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame

There's something terribly romantic about Frollo's devotion to Esmerelda that I can relate to in my own dealings with the fairer sex.
                                Ethically reprehensible, yet fiscally sound.

My Wife and I watched Aladdin over and over again. "A Whole New World" is one of our Top favorites.

It all depends on the many stages that is, sigh, l'amour!
                                    - When one is in denial... No Chance, No Way (I Won't Say I'm In Love)
                                    - When the first signs begin to grow... Something There
                                    - When one finally realizes... Part of Your World (Reprise)
                                    - When one shows their feelings in the moment that will break or take you... A Whole New World
                                    - When one still can't believe it or something really special has happened and you know they are the one... So This Is Love
                                    - A very romantic event... Can You Feel The Love Tonight
                                    - And after all this time you've been with them without loosing any sight of why you fell in love in the first place... Love
                                    I lurk.

Hunchback - Heaven's Light. when you want to be with someone, just like everyone else.

                                        "So many times out there
                                        I've watched a happy pair
Of lovers walking in the night
They had a kind of glow around them
It almost looked like heaven's light"

Pocahontas - If I Never Knew You. I almost wish they hadn't cut that scene from the film.
Hercules - I Won't Say (I'm in Love). When you're smitten so much, you need gospel to back you up.
