  • Groundhog Day...results mixed

We've got weather anarchy folks. Will we have an early spring or six more weeks of winter?

According to Phil up there in Pennsylvania, six more weeks of winter are ahead.

However down here in the deep south we look to Gen. Beurogard Lee (not kidding) for our G-Day prognostication. The General who is stationed at the Yellow River Game Ranch in Stone Mountain, GA-Failed to see his shadow and predicts an early spring.

What will happen...Who knows. Hold on to your hats...there's nothing worse than weather anarchy! ROFL

Phil ALWAYS says more winter, dude.
      I don't like Phil.
      Good morning, son
      In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
      It was pain
      Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

          Buckeye Chuck agreed with Phil...

Which is odd. It was quite cloudy today.

Winter forgot to come to Calgary. I hope that now we won't have six straight weeks of horrendous flurries just because the stupid thing saw it's shadow :ap:

When did winter ever START exactly?

                  I don't think we've had a day below 60 this season! :P

What kind of prognosticating range do these groundhogs cover? Certainly it's not a global thing.
It's possible both Phil and General Lee are accurate for their respective areas.
It's also possible that both are bunk.

Here in NorCal, I saw trees in bloom--while riding my bike in 64° weather.
Have bicycle, will ride. Finished 2012 with 10,089 miles, 683 hours, and 482,000 feet of elevation gain.
                        2013: 201 rides, 8171 miles, 544 hours, 480K feet.

Am I the only one kinda annoyed we haven't gotten a real winter season yet in the North East/Mid Atlantic? I mean...WTH?!?! I bought a new heavy coat at the end of the season last year...AND I HAVE YET TO WEAR IT!!! It's a good thing I didn't buy new boots, because there certainly hasn't been any need for that either. Half the days this month I didn't even need a jacket/coat...I was out walking around in a freaking sweatshirt in JANUARY...JANUARY!!!! I can count on one hand the amount of times I 've really needed to wear gloves/scarf/hat! I can leave the house in the morning with wet hair and not freeze. Do you want to know what the high was today? 58F!!! Another 10 degrees would be practically shorts weather! This is not normal. I need cold weather in the winter to balance out the horrible heat and humidity of the summer. </rant off>

                            Ya think?

Besides, I thought Punxsutawney Phil died in a horrible truck crash circa 1993. Also in the wreckage was the mangled body of a misogynistic Pittsburg weatherman.

That was just one day out of thousands. When you average them, he's only partially dead. Pittsburgh Phil is mostly dead, though.
