  • Where Did you Meet Your S/O?

I am always curious to hear where people met their husband/wife/partner/soul mate/ mail-order bride, etc. I am kind of realizing that if you are done with college, and you're not into the bar scene, it may limit the exposure to new people. Dating at work is usually no bueno, and at my work the talent pool is pretty shallow.

So, where did you meet your true love?

That is so sweet. Did you know that he was something special back then, or did it take time to figure out?

I dated my husband's brother!!! It only lasted two weeks. We were just too good of friends. 6 months later, while over at my "now friends" house I met my sweetie. Now almost 16 years later we are married and have a 4 year old little man. It was funny in the wedding announcements it said "the bride and groom were introduced by the grooms brother".

We have both stopped smoking years ago...the second thing we had in common is we both had horrible eyesight.....I've had corrective surgery......awe, memories.......but yeah, we met in a bar..12 years ago...

My husband was one of my cousins best friends. I met him with I was about in 6th grade I think it was, and he was a senior in high school. I went to Disneyland for the first time with him ( in 73 I think it was). In the summer after my dad died ( in 73) my mom and I would come down to California every year and stayed with my aunt and uncle. I would see him each year. Then the summber of 76 we decieded to get married, in 77 we got married right after I got out of high school and are still together.

I met my husband at church, we were both high school youth ministers. He saw me in church about a year before we "officially" met and says he knew then he was going to marry me. After about two weeks of dating, I knew he was the one. We were engaged 8 months later and married 2 years later. We have been married 2.5 years and it keeps getting better. I got to take him to Disneyland for his very first time.

Re: Where Did you Meet Your S/O?

At work at a Thrifty Drug store in Vista, CA. The store was being remodeled. I was the second assistant manager, he was a clerk. The store was being painted overnight and we had to be there to make sure the painters didn't steal anything. We spent most of the night in the break room eating and reading magazines. He was reading a Time magazine and it had an article on some gay rights group. He asked my opinion of the article and I ended up coming out to him. He told me he wasn't sure what he was.

We became great friends and then (get this anyone out there who thinks gay men are all about sex) we dated without fooling around for nearly a year before we declared ourselves a couple and gave in to the flesh thing. Best thing that ever happened to me for sure, to him also, I think he would say. It will be 32 years on July 4th. We not only live together, for most of our relationship, we have worked together, too. We both agree, there is no one else we would rather be around. He's still the funny, protective loving man I first met and apparently he's grown pretty fond of me, too.

I guess when it comes down to it I met my girlfriend because of church. I was good friends with her older sister and brother because we went to high school together and we knew the same people from church. i stayed good friends with them for almost 10 years before i started dating my girlfriend. weve been dating now for a little over 3 years.

moral of the story... you never know who your gonna fall in love with so keep your eyes, mind and heart open!

PS. In honor of my 700th post here at MiceChat I dedicate this post to the love of my life.
