So I didn't get into Nursing School

Just get my letter of denial today. I feel like such a loser. I moved to South Dakota to get into this nursing school. What a failure! Oh well, I can try again for spring semester. If that doesn't work, I don't know what I am going to do. So much for my dream of being a first aid nurse at disneyland

Keep trying dramaqueen!!, My mom had shed so many tears to get through to the program. Sometimes it will take a second try. My mom here in Nor Cal, some of the teachers she had, were ruthless. All the better for her because she now has been a nurse for 29 years. Hospitals in California need nurses badly. They just did an article on how long the waits are in some
CA Hospitals emergency rooms unless you are hurt severely it is long wait.

You have not failed. Many people have to apply several times to school in order to get in. And they often make great nurses. As you will. Give it another shot, and don't be too hard on yourself.

Off topic a moment - I have read a number of things that states this is an issue in more places than CA, and it will only get worse as the the teaching nurses (who have Ph.Ds) retire with few replacements. There are few replacements owing to the fact that a nurse can make a lot more money nursing than continuing school and teaching.

Hey DQ, that REALLY sucks!! I get my letter of denial from UC Santa Barbara my senior year in HS and I was so disappointed. That was my dream school. I ended up going to a different university of course and there I met one of my best friends to this day and....my husband! We lived in the same dorm! I am a firm believer these things happen for a reason, and whether you get in next semester or go somewhere else, it's for a reason!

Definitely don't give up. We can all tell by your personality that you will make an amazing nurse someday and many many people will benefit from you! So DON"T GIVE UP!!

If you're willing to move, my school, Pacific Lutheran, has a good nursing program and it's not terribly difficult to get in to, or so I hear.

And hey, if it makes you feel better, I was offered a dream art director position in the heart of Celebration last summer but lost the opportunity when I couldn't pull the trigger as fast as they wanted me and they decided to go with someone else...
