  • Memory Lane

I was browsing the Disney.com site today and came across the "Memory Lane" page. Here you can type in a year, say the year you were born and get information about the year you were born, what was released, important Disney facts/events of the year, etc. It is also a nice reference for films, etc.

What was the big deal when you were born? It's interesting to see what makes the cut, etc. and how the NUMBER of "feature films" makes a HUGE increase also.

    I was born in 1986:
Feature Films: "The Great Mouse Detective" and "Flight Of The Navigator"

    This Year in History:
    • Captain EO," starring Michael Jackson, opens at EPCOT and Disneyland.
    • The Disney Channel goes from 18 to 24 hours a day and becomes one of the fastest-growing pay cable services, reaching more than 35 million subscribers.
    • Disney World celebrates its 15th Anniversary.
    • The Living Seas opens at Disney World.

Nothing about Star Tours opening at Disneyland. Interesting...

    Historical events:
    • Jimmy Carter is elected President.
    • The 50 millionth guest visits Walt Disney World.
    • Bob Thomas' popular biography, "Walt Disney: An American Original," is published.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
