Howdy MiceChatters -

Remember the newsletter/newspaper/yearbook/ clubs in High School?

I thought that perhaps we could put together a similar club for the weekly roundup.

We would create a special forum that just the member of the club could read and post in. They would piece together their favorite threads of the week with comments and pictures, etc.

I know we have a lot of very talented writers on the site and I always feel like a heal writing the roundup knowing that some of our own members would do a far better job.

If there is any interest, please let me know.

I think a club with 6 - 8 members would be about the right size. They would elect a club leader every month. This would allow everyone to make an impact on the group and the Update. As new openings become available, we would start a thread letting the MiceChat community know that they can apply for the position. The existing club members would pick the new members.

Moderators would be available to help with anything the club needs.

Ya know, my first thought was, "Oh Lord no! Not High School clubs again! Ack!!!" But after reading your idea through completely I have to admit that I kind of dig it. Granted, it could easily swing from "neat" deeply into "cheesy" or even "lame," but I'd bet that, with the pooled talent of a few of the MiceChatters here, it would work out well. So, I guess then, I'm in too if ya need any help!

How will the first members be picked, in the event that more than 6-8 people are interested? Will the mods decide or will there be some sort of vote?

Can i take pictures????? I'm a decent photographer and will accept any assignment!!!! I never got to be on the yearbook staff.

I'm still a bit confused as to what this club will really do? Will this be a forum in micechat? What will be the point again?

From what I understand, this will be a group of people on MiceChat who, thoughout the week, assemble and write the MiceChat roundup. It will be a forum, but only members of the group will be able to read it or post to it. Through some electoral process, the group will choose a leader each month so that everybody has a chance to impact the RoundUp. As there becomes room for more members, the group would take applications from interested members and choose new members for the group. And of course the mods would be there to help.

So essentially, MiceChat would itself produce the roundup.

I'm glad we've tempted you.

The club will write the weekly MiceChat digest for MiceAge. They will divide up the forums and pick the best threads to feature. They will create a format for the roundup that will appeal to potential new members as well as those who have been unable to follow all the forums throughout the week.

If the Club needs help from the members, they can post threads asking for help or advise. In general, they will be responsible for creating an appealing weekly update.

As a group, the club will decide how best to tackle the project and how big or small the update should be.
