the new mickey cartoons- a debate

what do you guys think of the new mickey mouse cartoons (aka- mickey mouse works, house of mouse) i personally think that each of these cartoons are well made and that they tried their best at re-creating such a great character.

what are your thoghts?

Personally I like House of Mouse, but the new cartoons that they feature on the show are redundant. Occasionally they'll feature an old animated short that was previously released, which is so fun to watch and remember when you watched it last. In all, I think it was a cute idea, I enjoy seeing so many characters but it could be a little less cheesy.

I love House of Mouse to be honest. I think it's real cute and fun to watch at 3am during a break from my homework. I must agree that I wish there would be more older ones but that is why I bought the Treasures DVDs. I think they should continue to make more cartoons with the classic characters to keep them new, alive and fresh and going strong into 70+ years depending on the character. Long live Mickey Mouse!

OMG the treasures!!! I was a poor college student when all were being released so i wasnt able to buy any!! I'm so bummed, they're all so expensive and soon I wont be able to find any!! I guess I'll just have to marry my BF who has all of them, so i can enjoy them for free!! LOL, jk Marlon. Hope he doesnt read this and freak!

I don't like the new Mickey Mouse or any of the character shorts. They are so far from reality and feature the same gags over and over. Donald opens a present, WOW it's a bomb! Donald spends the rest of the cartoon trying to get rid of said bomb. End of short. They're all the same with little imagination. At least you could sort of identify with the older cartoons. Everyone has been tempted to ditch school like donald did, or get upset at relatives, or resolve relationship problems. The new cartoons are devoid of this. I think it's because the Disney channels cater specifically to the younger audience, while the older cartoons were for everyone since they were shown in theatres...

That's exactly what I had in mind when saying they were redundant. Good to know we're on the same page

its nice that they are (were) reviving these characters but has anyone noticed there is a little too much sarcasm in each cartoon... it seemsthat is the type of humor they are using with most everything today... i also have realized that with the new cartoons what the characters say is literally what they get(like mickeys april fools day cartoon where mortimer literally recieves 1000 bucks)... this kind of joke needs to be stopped

The 'classics' are almost always better than the new stuff in my opinion. Maybe its the story lines, maybe its just the nostalgia for the old stuff that brings back the good memories....

So true. I remember when the Disney Channel was a) not stupid and filled with retard shows like "Lizzie McGuire", and "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody". (who comes up with this crap?) and b) showed shows like, "Mouse Tracks" and "Quack Attacks". I used to get up every morning to watch them. The classics are almost always better.

There's just no real variety to each cartoon. Same format over and over. And they're so fast pace. They try to cram a 15 minute cartoon into 3 min. and everything goes by so fast that you're left wondering what the heck you just saw. And ten years from now, no kid is going to remember a single one of those crappy cartoons. The classics will always be superior to the House of Mouse cartoons.
