  • Disney Tidbit of the Day

Ok, I am really bored this morning so I thought I would start this thread. I will add a new tidbit of Disney info on here about once or twice a day.

If you like this thread then give me a heads up and I will keep going with it!

    Tidbit for 4-29-2005:

The Partners bronze statue of Walt and Mickey appear in Disney theme parks all over the world. The STR symbol on Walt's tie refers to Smoke Tree Ranch, a development in Palm Springs, California, where he had a vaction home.

Interesting concept for a thread BDK. I posted a thread on 3/8/05 titled "Disney in the Desert" that has a little more info concerning Walt's attatchments to Palm Springs and The Ranch. I understand the Disney family still owns their house in Smoke Tree.

I have been in this town......Might I add its an odd little town at that.

......... besides being very beautiful, I found it spooky and odd as well.
                                Yes, it is fast....

                                No, you can't drive IT.

I have read that Disney hires CM's to sit on the park benches and fly kites and sit on empty houses front porches. I think that is kinda spooky!

In 1959, Disney released Sleeping Beauty, his most costly animated feature to date. Unfortunately the $6 million movie was not a tremendous hit in its initial release.
