  • Thomas Kinkade under FBI investigation

Article posted in LA Times today

He's known on here for his works shown in the Disneyland gallery now. The FBI is investigating Thomas Kinkade for bad business practices and defrauding investors to devalue his company before making it private again.

And this is precisely why I hate this "artist." Using his Christianity as a way to sell art and entice investors - thats SO wrong. He's a bad man. Up there with Mr. Mel Gibson.

Not to mention, I don't think his art is even that great, and how he is this pompous, self-proclaimed "painter of light" - give me a break! - yeah, well he makes me sick.

        Heehee, I haaaaaate Thomas Kinkade.

I once walked into a house that was 100% TK. Even the wallpaper border was a bunch of creepy little cottages. It was awful, I actually counted the seconds until I could leave!! :yuck:

He and Anne Geddes are my two worst nightmares, and they're both at Disneyland. It's like walking into 1994 and staying there. Where are my scrunchies???

Painter of Light. I hate that. It's awfully self-important.

I'm sure both the ladies on the home shopping channel who buy his pieces were be torn to tears over this.

The world of Art marches on, not like it ever even bothered to turn it's head and glance at this fraud.

I got sucked into the Disney Castle painting not knowing that it was not a Disney only exclusive , but there ended up being a worldwide gallery release.

                      This does not surprise me.

I know someone that used to be very high up in the company several years ago. His contract was bought out for a large undisclosed sum of money in exchange for his silence about his business practices. Needless to say, I never found out what he knew, but he was paid a LOT of money, in the millions, to keep quiet about what he knew.

My brother also did business with the company and met the man on several occasions. IMO, he is creepy and wierd, and untalented to boot.

This is the best news I've heard all day. I hate Thomas Kinkade and I don't understand the appeal of paying that kind of money for a painting that you could easily find hanging above a bed in a Red Roof Inn.

It's taken way too long but it looks promising that Karma has finally caught up with Kinkade.

I think this whole thing is a staged expression of his "public" art. He is in a "Judas Iscariot" phase of his career. He is merely "testing" his true believers with a spurrious investigation. When he is cleared of all charges, his followers will all ashamed for publicly "stoning" him. I'm sure he's doing a limited print of that event now. Kinkade is seven letters, the number of perfection. (It is also the same number of letters as "convict").
