  • Do you love your Mother?

    I know I love mine

So with Mothers day just around the corner, what are you planning to do/get for your mom on that special day?

    Great thread!

My mom has requested that we got to Knott's on Mother's Day. The last time anyone in my family went to Knott's was my brother and I going for an FBLA Regional Competition back in 1988.

Mom will be getting the illustrated Da Vinci Code and, if I can find it, the illustrated Angels & Demons.

I know what I am getting already, just not sure I will get it on Mother's Day or not.

Edited to Add: I forgot to add the other half of our Mother's Day weekend.

We are going to Palm Springs with my dad, step mom & sisters. Not sure what to get my step mom yet. Should get a little something for my sister too.

Also, going to remember to order something for Nathan's mom & step mom now.

Mother's Day also happens to be my birthday! My daughter and my stepdad are taking me and my mom to brunch at the Mission Inn.

Of course I love my mom!

She lives too far away to do anything with I did order flowers (roses - her fave) and a personalized card... both I got big discounts/free stuff with, so we BOTH win!! It's tough to get her something 'cuz she never wants anything and her birthday was just a month ago.

Oh and of course I'll call her on Sunday!
        Good morning, son
        In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
        It was pain
        Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

                NICE!!!!!!!!

I am not close to my mom, so I don't do much for her on Mother's Day. I am working that day and selling flowers to raise money for our YM program at church!!!! Fun times

Of course I love my Mom. Although she doesn't think so some of the time.

For Mothers day I am helping her move. Although, that's tomorrow. I think we are also going to get her a gift card to Kohls and some flowers.

My wife is getting a trip to WDW. (We are paying for our November trip this week). I'm also getting her wedding ring fixed (it got bent). And of course some flowers.

I think we are going to go to Hurricane Harbor (weather permitting).

I love my mom and I miss her very much. Next time I visit, I will take her some flowers.

I love my mom , sometimes its very hard to realize how much you miss someone till they are gone. I wished her a happy birthday and encouraged my daughters to do the same on her birthday. I kind of sometimes stable myself by thinking " what would mom do " when life get tough. She is now a role model to me , when I think I have it rough I think of her as a single mom working in a factory ( sometimes double shifts) to pay for my school tuition and the things a child needs. When I think I wish I had more money I look to the fact that she saved enough money to live independently and make sure all her arrangements where not a burden to me,. When I think wow this grandparent thing is hard rocking a crying baby to sleep at some ungodly hour I remember she took my babies home for the weekend to give me a break after working 40 hrs a week! When I see my grandson and my daughter who is not married but living with his father in total bliss and question hey what the heck..I think of my mom saying " you cant change it , just go with it .." I thank my lucky stars that she lived with us for the last 10 years of her life and watched my girls , they never had to go to daycare. She toured Europe at age 60 , She rocked babies and read to little children in bed at age 70, she had more patience then than I have at 49. Yes we fought , 3 genrations of females in one household with one male omg we argued, we had tantrums, and we loved eachother...all I can say is Hi Mom Happy Mothers Day , you have made us waht we are today , you are my yardstick and motivation when I think I can't do something, THANKS!

Mine passed away a little over a year ago. Cancer. She was a Disney fan. She would have loved this board.

Yes I'm serious. What kind of sick person would joke that they're mom is dead? I'm sick, but not THAT sick.

When I was 14 she was diagnosed with colon cancer and given a 50-50 shot of living 5 years. She made it just over 1 year from diagnosis to death. She's burried in La Verne, so I don't get to go to the grave very often.

23 years later, not a mother's day goes by that I don't cry. I can't hear a Carpenter's song (her favorite music) without tearing up...

Everyone with a mom better appreciate it every day...If you don't I'm gonna find you and (probably get my butt kicked trying to) kick your butt.

and I'm going to stop thinking about mother's day now....

My mom is crazy, but I love her dearly. We're fairly close and tend to do lots of fun things together.

For her Mother's Day present, my two sisters are flying here and we're going away for the weekend (she'll have to wait until June for this), just the girls. It's going to be fabulous! (It usually involves spa treatments, wine, shopping... it's great!)

As for Mother's Day itself, I actually have to work, but I'll phone her and send flowers. I'll probably go down within the next day or two and take her to dinner and maybe a movie...

Sometimes I think I love her more than she loves me.

Let's just say I was going to do something really nice for her, but have decided not to because it probably won't go over well.

So I am going to send her a card and giver her a phone call.
