Cool! I just remembered that last year you posted some pictures of when you went!!
Do you work there or go as a guest?
Just as a guest. I've been approached by St Andrews guild (I have a scottish persona that I sometimes play (aka I wear a kilt), and by St. Sebastians (a period archery guild), but I've opted out of it due to all the politics that go on in them.
One of my ex's worked them (thats how we met in fact... she was a paper maker. She was in a low cut bodice and bent over to get some paper out of a vat. The next thing I knew I was over introducing myself to her. lol!!! ). Working a faire can be fun, and the parties that they throw after hours are legendary.

Re: Anyone going to the Nor Cal Renaissance Faire this weekend?
I would but I have bridesmaid dress shopping on Saturday. Plus, gotta be careful with my cash since we leave for WDW in two weeks!!
Have a great time though. Post a trip report with pics. I haven't been to a Ren Faire since they were holding it at the Nut Tree. That one was so much more convienent for me.
Lisa, Have you ever gone to any of the ones in Sac?
Nope, the only one I knew about was in Fair Oaks. Are there others? To the best of my knowledge it is rather small. I don't know why I don't go. Have you been?

There are 3 held in the Sacramento area every year. The only one I have not gone to is one that is held at a clothing optional resort on the river.
There is a pirate one that is held every July at the park just north of Old Town on the American River. It's very good. Its a bit more open and smaller than the big one at Casa De Fruita, but they have the same vendors and stuff is a lot cheaper there.

Ha ha ha!!! They hold a Ren Fair at Rawhide Ranch!?!?! (Okay, not the actual name but what we called it in high school. I can't even remember the real name.) That's hilarious! Saves money on costumes I guess.
Ah, you are talking about Discovery Park, right? I will have to remember that for next year.

Discovery Park. That's it. It's a fun faire, just ignore the mundane stuff that you can see around (buildings, ice cream vendors, etc) and if you can take the humidity, you'll have a good time.

Heh, I live in Sacramento, remember? I HAVE to take the humidity. I don't have to like it, however.
From what I understand after talking to people who had been there, a few people went topless, must most everyone went in full garb. Looking at the ren faire listings for 2006, it appears that this faire didn't happen this year.

I didn't know there were politics at the Reniassance Faire! But then I guess there are politics everywhere right?

That's a cute story!!
