...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON ABOVE 5500 FEET...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MISSOULA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. A COLD AND MOIST WEATHER SYSTEM MOVING OVER FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGHER VALLEYS. RIGHT NOW IT LOOKS LIKE ACCUMULATING SNOW COULD DEVELOP DOWN TO 5500 FEET...OR ROUGHLY THE ELEVATION OF BUTTE. HOWEVER...IF PRECIPITATION IS STRONGER THAN EXPECTED...SNOW LEVELS COULD DROP EVEN FURTHER. THEREFORE...IT IS IMPORTANT TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS THROUGH THIS EVENT. A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.

There was a warning on one of our passes out here about winter conditions, accidents and the police asking people to slow down. Go figure, just a couple hundred kilometers away they're fighting forest fires that crossed the border from Washington State!

I can not believe it, but I knew with the cold temps we have had in the last several weeks we were bound to get a bad winter. I have a funny feeling this one is going to be a biggie.
we have had heavy frosts, for a few weeks now. fires all around us will surly go out now. thank God!!!

Can I skip school and come visit you Karla?? We don't get much snow (if we do, it melts within the hour ) so I don't know what large snow amounts are like.
I loooooooooove it when it snows, though. It's the one thing I like about living here.

I checked on weatherbug for your area and they said possible accumulations are 1-4 inches.

you know what? I have yipped and cried and fussed over the cold and the snow ,but I decided I am not going to do it this year. I am going to love it, embrace it and down right enjoy it. Montana girl made me relize, Montana is awsome, refreshing, and beautiful. I lived here most of my life, ( except for moving to wyoming for a few years ) I always wanted to live in a warm climate,now I love to visit them, but Montana is my home for ever.
I can not wait for the snow, I may even take up snow skiing again , yeah I am one big woman, but I am going to enjoy this if it kills me doing it!!
So bring on the snow, bring on the storms, I await you :lol:

We always make a big deal after the 1st snow. Even better if its at night, you can go out and see the big flakes fall under the pretty, starry night.

Karla you lucky duck you! I wish it would snow down here in Georgia like it does in Montana! When I went to the family reunion last March in Minnesota it was snowy and cold and I loved it! it was so awesome and beautiful.

I am so looking forward to the snow, and playing in it. heck I am going to get me some snow pants to ;lmao: thank you, I was such a bummer about the cold here, but no more, I am going to buy me some hand warmers and get out there and enjoy it all thank you !!
