  • AIDS Walk - Where do I hold my stuff??

I thought this thread might be helpful for those of us doing the AIDS Walk or the upcoming CHOC Walk.

Obviously, when I'm walking, I'm not going to be lugging my bag around, but I do want to have with me ...
    • my car key
    • id
    • health insurance card
    • $20 (just in case)
    • my spf lip sunscreen
I am not a fanny pack type of gal. Can anyone recommend another good way to hold these things when I'm walking? I was thinking there might be some sort of small velcro pouch I can lace into my shoe, but I'm just not sure. I always lose things when I put them in my pockets, so I don't think that will work.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I keep trying to figure out if I am going to bring a small purse or a small backpack during AIDS Walk. I might not decide until that weekend.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

Good, because I would mock you.

I've done several 5k's and last week did the Race for the Cure.

I bought one of those lightweight Nike backpacks (more like a sack) with strings for $10 to carry my stuff. http://www.jdsports.co.uk/uploads/pr...165_10069A.jpg

All I carry is my ID, debit card, some cash, an extra water bottle. When the water bottle is gone, the bag feels like you're carrying nothing, you can't even feel it.

Also, the AIDS walk is really slow going....at least ours is here in Portland. You're just strolling along, it's beautiful.

Thanks. I would mock myself. I already have enough "junk in the trunk" without a fanny pack adding to it!

Before I signed up I PMed Chernabog and made sure that this wasn't going to be some fast power walk through LA.

I think I'll check out those Nike bags. I like that they have a zipped area so I don't lose my car key. And I would lose it, because I do things like that.

They domake shoe wallrets... you can "Google" the term. Yahoo! at least should have some listings.

If it's just keys and a few cards/cash, I'll just put them in my pocket.
          Good morning, son
          In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
          It was pain
          Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

You should keep your ID and keys on you (anything important, really). The rest you should lock in the trunk of your car.
