Have fun and realize that none of it matters. The cool Jock will be selling you french fries in ten years. Do your best, have fun and be good to EVERYONE. You never know who will be the next Bill Gates (That's him on the lower left hand corner. Think a day went by where someone didn't tease him? Think he hired the people who treated him poorly?).

High School Survival? Keep your future in sight - remind yourself of what you want daily- and don't let others detract from what you want.

Don't worry about the popular 'junk' or the popular 'crowd'. It won't matter in "LIFE".

          Good luck!

Do as much as you can while you're there, it goes fast.
If it's not your problem, don't go messing around with it.

No matter how cool or dorky you think that you are while you're a high schooler, in 5 years you'll realize that you were lame and you'll laugh at yourself. The moral....don't take yourself too seriously! Enjoy it and live it up!

              My best score ever!

                  Never make eye contact.

                  :botox:

Seriously...this is how I survived until the 10th grade. But it's not really my recommendation. The sooner you learn to not take yourself so seriously, and garner a belief that you're really OK, the better. By the 11th grade, I discovered I could make people laugh. (...at times.) By the time I was a senior, I was involved in drama and singing solos in the Spring Concert. I had never dreamed of doing those types of things as a 9th grader, but finding a bunch of kids who shared the same interests and finding out that I was really ok as a person (I'm NOT a loser, I'm NOT a loser....) really made a huge difference.

Until finally, at grad night 1980..... :whistling:

LDF trivia fact of the day:

I did scenes in drama with James Legros. ( we did "The Sunshine Boys", etc) James left as a senior telling us all that he was going to Hollywood to be an actor. We all said "Sure, yeah right."

So, at last check, James was Mark Albert in "Ally McBeal", and was Special Agent Fuller in "Sleeper Cell" in 2005. Weird to see someone you knew back then looking back at you from the t.v.

This is good. I think it was Rodney Dangerfield who said he wanted to thank the kids who picked on him because while he learned how make people laugh to survive and became successful, the guys that were picking on him ended up selling used cars.

No, you're right. I've been very guilty of it numerous times.

Even today when I jokingly called the Social Studies teacher an idiot to my friend in French as she was walking by... turns out she can speak French.

Never buy Rally Tickets or Elevator passes, it's a scam they do on lower classmen to make money. I should know, my brother and his best friend made tickets and sold them and made a bundle.

Be nice to upperclassmen, get on their good side or else you'll get canned. (it happened to a girl I went to JR High with)
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban
