It's official - I am now a Daddy! :yea: My wife went into labor Thursday Morning and after close observation, an 'emergency' cesarean section was done yesterday, Friday, October 13, 2006.
This is our first child, which means the name "Disneyland Daddy" is no longer an anticipatory name, but a real thing now!
My son, named Grant Michael, was born @ 11:52am @ UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA. He weighed 6 lbs, 4 oz and was 18 inches long.
I don't have pictures yet, but I think he's the greatest thing in the whole wide world!
After was born and cleaned up and such, they wrapped him up like a little burrito and handed him to me. I just lost it - yup, I cried a bit. But there I was - standing there in scrubs, holding my brand new son! I took him over and showed him to my crying wife - and I got to take him to the nursery as they 'sewed' her up.
Wife is doing well and our little boy - ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. And he's perfect example that Friday the 13th is NOT a bad luck day!
Thanks to all for your well wishes and such during these last days of the pregnancy!
