Bought the girls their halloween costumes today, so i am starting to get into the halloween spirt. Does any one have any special plans for halloween? We are't doing anything special, just the normal thing, taking the girls out to trick or treat, and handing out candy at our house. what are your plans?

After dealing with the kids in my class all day on Halloween, I always let hubby do the candy passing out thing at home. I am usually too beat to do anything more than sit and watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
Oh, I'm dressing as Donald Duck. Got the costume. Just need the yellow tights. (Hey! Where is the pumpkin Mickey smilie??)

Re: Plans for Halloween??
I will most likely be at my parents house. Their street is a nice quiet street with little traffic so lots of people bring their kids to the area to trick or treat. Usually lots of people we know from aroudn town stop by. If we know you you get into the house where you can get at the special treats I make. This year I am making a Chocolate Malt Cake.

Re: Plans for Halloween??
I'm working at my kindergartener's party early in the day, then making a big dinner and apple cider in the crock pot. Then we'll meet up with a few families and go out trick or treating near our school where everyone goes.
Our favorite house to go to is the kinder teacher's house. Her sidewalk is packed--she's the most popular stop of the night for every kid in the school.
Then we're having two families over for beers and coffee.
We only have one costume yet though. My eleven year old is a Greek Goddess.
The other two have the Wicked fascination still. My eight year old wants to be NessaRose (Wicked Witch of the East), but I told her she can only do it if we build a house around her, with striped tights and the ruby slippers. She's thinking about it.
My youngest also wants to be NessaRose, but only because she wants us to find a wheelchair for her to "ride in" all night. She's that lazy.

Re: Plans for Halloween??
Haven't even started on it. Had one idea, but a)it would require sewing, and b)is so offensive I could wear it basically NOWHERE.
And I don't have any of my old costumes in complete form anymore, so I"m not sure what I'm going to do.
Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Re: Plans for Halloween??
At the moment, I have no plans at all.
My parents are talking about not even bothering to hand out candy because we get so few kids, since they are only allowed to trick-or-treat from 6-8pm in our county, which is sad.Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

My little brother is going Trick or treating with my dad, me, my brother, and my mom are staying home. My mom is passing out candy, and me and my bro are scareing people in the front yard. We also have some friends over, helping with the fog machines, lightning, ect.

Re: Plans for Halloween??
We are going to our church to do a "trunk or treat". It's always nice, because it usually snows on halloween here and it's just too cold to do extensive trick-or-treating! And we'll go around our neighborhood.sigpic
Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Re: Plans for Halloween??
My co-workers and I always dress up on Halloween day. My family and I usually go up to San Ramon and go trick or treating with my niece and nephew or hand out candy at their house since their street is flat and crawling with kids while our street is hilly and we are lucky to get 5 trick or treaters.
Last year, Tiffany had a huge party with 23 friends and she wants to have anther party this year with 27 friends. It takes the other five members of our family to pull this off for her!

Re: Plans for Halloween??
It isn't really a huge tradition down here.
Sure, there are a few trappings, and maybe some special confectionary or films out, but very rarely do we actually go out and trick or treat. The few occasions when someone has turned up in costume, I've literally burst out laughing at the surprise. I'm at a different address this year too, so it is less likely there will be trick or treating in this area.
At any rate, my tradition is usually to watch scary movie all night. However, Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year, so we'll probably only fit one or two in.

Re: Plans for Halloween??
My Mickey's Halloween Treat tickets for me and my prince just arrived... I have a bought Princess Aurora costume I'll wear only if I can't put together a Briar Rose costume in time. But chances are, I'll get it done given I already have the black boddess and most other things for the top portion.
Now I just need a gray skirt and a basket... and see if I can try to put together a Forest Phillip costume for the other half.Julie Rei
