This evening Vic and attended a performance of "Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words" at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles. During the show, various comedians and/or celebrities read verbatim from celebrity autobiographies. The results were hilarious! It seems that Hollywood celebrities live in a very different world than you and I.
We began at the new West Restaurant near Westwood. Located on the 17th floor of the old Holiday Inn (now the Angeleno Hotel) this is a new and hip eatery. The hotel and restaurant have been remodeled and updated beautifully. We sampled several "little plates" and the verdict was mixed... but we will try it again. The view was forever and we could see Catalina from our table. Apparently, someone was shooting fireworks over the Pacific Coast which could also view over the hills. Magical!
The readings were presented by Steve Atinsky, Saratoga Ballantine, (Downtown) Julie Brown, Laraine Newman, Eugene Pack, Jack Plitnick, Dale Rehfeld, Bruce Vilanch and Fred Willard.
After the show, I was able to shake hands with Bruce Vilanch and Fred Willard and thank them for the many laughs they have provided over the years.
