  • This Really Really Sucks

OK, I am trying not to be too angry about this because there's nothing I can do, but I needed to vent somewhere.
Last night, when my mom was pulling into our garage, she totally hit my freaking car. There's a good 7 inch scratch going down the side of my otherwise pristine vehicle. Now, I know my mother feels very bad for this already, so I can't even yell at her for it, I'd just feel like a jerk.
But oh, my poor, sweet little car!

Can you ground her to her room for a week, no phone or TV privilages.

            That's awesome!

But, alas, I find that I am permanently indebted to my mother and my stepfather for all the help they've given me along my turbulent path of youth...I wouldn't dream of suing my mom. But grounding her? There is a kind of poetic justice in that!

Thanks to all of you for validating my feelings and allowing me to vent my fury.

Sunnygirl, I'm sorry about the car. You're right, it does suck and it's hard to be angry about it since it's your mom and she feels bad, but I understand WHY you are angry.....it is a scratch on a nice car!!!!

LOVE THAT!!!!! The value oif the guilt you can dump on your mom in small doses for the next 20 years outstrips the cost of fixing the scratch. Can you imagine when she wants to tell you somehting about taking care, cleaning up, or respecting property, what you can lay back on her? "Yeah..right.. and how long did it take to get my car fixed? who was watching what they were doing then?" like a hot poker it is..

                  bodywork 600 bucks
                  eternal guilt...priceless

I'd actually go with Stupid, Pointless and 1 or 2 good one liners, and alot of bad 1 liners.

But back to the topic at hand:

That really sucks. Hope you can get it fixed soon. Just borrow your Mom's car, scratch it up and you will be even. I messed up my Mom's car once and didn't tell her fir 8 years.

                        Ah, that stinks!
Is she going to pay to have it repaired?
                        Good morning, son
                        In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                        It was pain
                        Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

But that's not punishment TicToc! Well... it might be for you. At least that's what Kristi was telling some people the other day. Just because it works on you... heh. kidding.

The whole guilt thing reminds me of how my dad lost my mom's wedding ring after they had been married for 29 years. Story short, it needed to be resized, he took it to work to take a picture of the diamond and put it in his pant pocket and went all over that day (car dealer, Chucky Cheese, etc) and at the end of the day.. it was lost. So, with that in mind.. it could be worse, no? [By the way, they're still married. Just hit #32 on 05/05/05. ]
