things happen all over the world, please do not bash america !

Tassie, I am so so sorry, when ever we travel we always take everything from the car when we are in a motel over night. can you start sending things home now? I am sorry I hope the rest of your journey is safe and secure. I would also think of sending packages home now if you can

How would you know what the statistics are for car robberies in foreign countries? So you have newspaper subscriptions for how many foreign countries? Maybe you were expecting stories on car break-ins in Australia to make it to CNN? Not likely.

Tassie, I am so sorry that happened to you! I like Karla's advise about sending some of your souvenirs home periodically.

I hope the rest of your trip is happy and uneventful (in a bad way). :ghug:

Tassie, if you can not send home yet ( because you have no home to send to yet) maybe you could leave your things with one of the awsome chatters you are staying with /meeting and find out what shipping is,( cost) and have them ship your stuff when you get home? I am so sorry this happened, that makes me so sad to hear. but never leave thenings in a car over night

It's easy to look up statistics for foreign countries. Check out the CIA website for details. But regardless, statistics are easily skewed and many crimes are not reported to the police so there is no way of knowing exactly which country has the most car robberies per capita. By the way, you don't have to have a subscription to a foreign newspaper to find out what's going on in a country. Most newspapers have web sites so you can easily find out information that way. It all depends on how much effort you want to put into it.
Yes there are bad apples everywhere but this happened to her in the US, not anywhere else.

Tassie: I am sorry this happened to you. If you remember what was stolen I would be happy to pick you up a replacement if you came through my area. I am in Arizona. I am sure other Mice chatters would be willing to do the same. Hang in there!

Tassie, I am so sorry to hear that your rental car was broken into and stuff was stolen. For the remainder of the trip, try not to keep anything in the car overnight or just ship stuff home little by little. It's really all you can do. These things happen and i'm sorry that they had to happen to you.
