  • Vegas Favorites?

Since I will be heading out to Lost Wages this weekend for some well deserved (i.e. shoulder just too injured to play ice hockey this weekend) R&R I am curious what other people think:

Favorite Casino? (tie: Golden Nugget to stay/comps, Bellagio for the amazing setups for the holiday, and Paris/Mirage for play.)

Least Favorite Casino? (probably TI as too many bitter people)

Favorite Game? (craps for me...especially with a FIRE bet!, blackjack is #2)

Most Hated Game? (3 card poker ... too big a downside)

Favorite Buffet? Bellagio weekdays (we shall see what the new Nugget buffet is like soon) and the Cannery weekends.

Least Loved Buffet? (Border Buffets as they have made Goonie sick on the one shot they got)

Favorite CHEAP Meal? Lunch at the Cannery Casino.

Worst Cheap Meal? (Midnight specials at Tropicana more due to service than anything)

Favorite EXPENSIVE Meal? (Easter Jazz Brunch at Commanders Palace.... I hope they re-open soon!!)

Worst Expensive Meal? (Nothing bad to date)

    Let's hear some nominees!!!!
2006 Ice Hockey Champs! (13-0-0) Bar Room Heroes
2007 Ice Hockey Champs! (14-6-1) Angry Bar Flies
2008 Ice Hockey Champs! (15-2-1-1) Die Another Day

    Career Stats:
    Regular Season Games=108 (36 goals, 34 assists, 70 points, 22 penalty minutes)
    Playoff Games=11 (6 goals, 7 assists, 13 points, 0 penalty minutes).

I completely forgot about the hole known as the Ex-Crap-ular. With the exception of one really nice dealer (known as Mr. B) I have never had much fun there AND had my pocket picked for $300 at a craps table!

Palms, aka Snorefest Casino... went once for 40 minutes, got bored and left.

              Re: Vegas Favorites?

Hmm - here's my list of most/least favorite.

Most Favorite Casino - depends on what I'm doing. I love wandering through Bellagio's conservatory. The galleries are beautiful, too. Caesar's Palace is still my favorite place to get a room, though.

Least Favorite Casino - Monte Carlo. It's more of a maze than most, and inconvenient unless you have a car. The only thing I found worthwhile there was seeing Lance Burton, but that's not really a repeat attraction for me.

Favorite Game - Craps or Blackjack.

Most Hated Game? - don't really have one, because I don't really do much besides craps or blackjack.

Favorite Buffet - Bellagio. If I want a decent -cheap- buffet, though - then I head to the Garden Court Buffet at Main Street Station.

Least Loved Buffet? - hmm - Sahara's buffet was pretty blah, if I remember correctly.

Favorite Cheap Meal - anything from the California Club snack bar.

Worst Cheap Meal - maybe I just have a cast-iron stomach, but don't remember ever having something terribly bad.

Favorite Expensive Meal - don't remember what it was called, but it was a 5-course set meal with wine pairings at Top of the World at Stratosphere. Incredible food, incredibly romantic, impeccable service.

And I'll add something - Favorite Show: Blue Man Group. I LOVED them when I saw them. Very innovative and entertaining, although some people didn't like them too much.

If you're an ABBA fan, then I also recommend Mamma Mia - I've never had so much fun at a show.

Least Favorite Show: Zumanity. I think they were suffering a bit of an identity crisis. It was one part Cirque, one part Follies Bergere and one part who-knows-what. If you want Cirque, stick to O, Ka or Mystere. If you want racy, go with a full-fledged revue. This didn't cut it for me.
              She did it!

                I'll add to my post...

Best Nightspot: Body English & Circle Bar at the Hard Rock, TAO, Tangerine for a lounge.

Worst Nightspot: Pure (overrated), Rain (immature crowd, over rate, over crowded for no reason), RA (if its still around), Beach

                Best Coffee: Segafredo at Caesers!
Three-time MVP Larry Bird, noting that Bryant has been the NBA's premier player for years, told Sports Illustrated's Dan Patrick before this week's announcement, "When someone told me the other day that Kobe hadn't won an MVP trophy, it sort of made me feel like I wanted to throw mine away."

Since I don't enjoy gambling, I want to add a plug for the reef experience at Mandalay Bay, that was the most fun I had last time I was there. I also enjoyed the 'thunderstorm' inside the mall at Aladdin.

ahhh yes the thunderstorm!!! If you stand in one of the dome'd areas, i think by the theatre entry, if you clap, you'll hear an echo, or say something...its really cool. I was standing there for about 15 min. fooling around with the echo effect!!

Favorite Casino? Hmmmm. Lately it's been the MGM Grand. I don't know, I just like walking through it. For gambling, the Imperial Phallus

Least Favorite Casino? Hmmm. Probably the Mirage. Crappy gambling in there.

                        Favorite Game? CHEAP blackjack tables.

                        Most Hated Game? Casino War

Favorite Buffet? Mandalay Bay breakfast buffet

                        Least Loved Buffet? THE PALMS

Favorite CHEAP Meal? Pizza at NY/NY

                          Re: Vegas Favorites?

Favorite Casino? Bellagio, Paris, Venetian. I'm more of a wanderer than a player and they're the prettiest.

Least Favorite Casino? MGM Grand, I think it's UGLY. Same with NY.

Favorite Game? None. Except when my husband lets me sleep with semi-hot millionaires for a million dollars.

                          Most Hated Game? None.

Favorite Buffet? Used to like Bally's. Not sure anymore. We were really surprised at how good Bally's was.

Least Loved Buffet? None. I don't remember the Paris buffet as being as good as we paid for though...

Favorite CHEAP Meal? Can't remember, probably In-N-Out or Fatburger, since we don't have those in Oregon and I seek those places out....

Worst Cheap Meal? Planet Hollywood. Gross food, horrible service.

Favorite EXPENSIVE Meal? Fiore at Rio, excellent steaks and professional service.

Worst Expensive Meal? None so far

Least Memorable: Aladdin and Monte Carlo. They are mazes inside and don't stand out to me at all like most others.
