  • Movie Filming on my Street

We just got a paper mailed to us informing us that there is going to be a movie shoot on the street we live on next Saturday and Monday. It requests that we don't park our cars on the street for those 2 days because there is going to be filming equipment all around and that additional security is going to be on location. On the paper are the times in which they are going to be filming. The Saturday is not going to be a problem but the Monday filming might be a little bit of a hassle because I go to school that day and can't miss my first class because I have a test that day. Will they still let the residents get in and out of the street or are we going to be stuck in the driveway? Should I park my car somewhere else and walk to it that morning? Has anyone had to deal with this and if so how did you manage?

They'll let you in and out, no problems. If you think they won't let you out the exact second you need to be, then leave a little earlier than normal.

      Enjoy the experience!

When you find out what they are filming, let us know!

They filmed Fast and the Furious a few roads down from me before.

On the paper we got it is listed as Bethel (working title). I figured I will leave a little earlier to avoid anything that will cause me to be late. I have never even heard of the movie or anything so it is going to be interesting. Nothing like this has ever happened on my street. I know they do filming around my town a lot and in Back to the Future they used one of the high schools in my area as the school. We will see how it turns out.

Puente Hills mall out on the corner where the 76 is now. It is a Burlington Coat Factory now though instead of the JC Penney I *think* you see in the movie.

Re: Movie Filming on my Street

I love the Puente Hills Mall, and never knew they filmed Back To The Future there.

Although, since I live right next to Downtown LA they are always filming around here because of the bridges, and I hate it because it messes with me getting to and from work.

But, I'd say that if you are really concerned about being let out and making it to your class just park your car somewhere else and walk to it. You never know how long it might take to be let out ... because even though they do let you come and go they might be filming right when you need to leave.

Thanks for the advice. I will admit I am a little intrigued about how it is going to work out. I am not planning on going anywhere Saturday so it is going to be my observation day. I remember when Spiderman came out they filmed the scene when the Green Goblin crashes the parade in Downey and some of my friends and I went to the shoot as extras. It was good times.

Whittier has long been a favorite for locations shoots for features and television. It's so visually versatile and has it's own pirate store on Greenleaf!

Over in that area they have my most favorite store Melrose Vintage. They have some cool shirts there. I want to get my hands on a "Girls are Prettier in Whittier" shirt. I have not heard of a pirate store though. Care to enlighten so so I can stop by sometime?
