  • Tigger Bounces Back

    Source: Mickeynews.com

No charges will be filed against the Disney World cast member who plays Tigger accused of punching a 14-year old boy last month.
The boy's family threatened to sue 31-year-old Michael Fedelem. They said the costumed character sucker-punched the boy at MGM Studios.

But prosecutors decided not to pursue the case after reviewing some home video of the incident.

The union representing Fedelem claimed the teen was grabbing the costume, and that Fedelem was only trying to get the boy off of him.

Fedelem was suspended after the incident. No word yet on whether he's been reinstated, or if the boy's family will pursue its lawsuit.

It looked like an accident to me but I don't know. Was the boy all over the Tigger and bothering him? Was the Tigger just not aware of who was around him? Did the Tigger just have a bad day and take it out on a random kid? No idea.

      Three cheers for Tigger!

You know, CM's in those costumes or totally vulnerable to so much. And our world today is "SUE HAPPY" - I have seen people tug on CM's in Character Costume and such and frankly, I can't really see how this could be a legitimate case anyway.

      Again, this is Tiggerific news.

      TTFN!

What kind of fool tries to sue a part time employee instead of a multibillion dollar corporation?

        (Rhetorical question. No surprise here.)

Even though it was rhetorical, I will answer. The kind of fool who would videotape themselves obviously messing with Tigger beforehand. Personally I hope Disney sues them.

                  Re: Tigger Bounces Back

Looking at the video, it looks more like Tigger turned suddenly and misjudged where his hand was going. Whether he was trying to stop the kid from messing with his costume, or just horsing around as the character often does, nothing about the tape looks like a deliberate assault. It's not hard to misjudge sudden movements when your field of vision is handicapped with that friggin oversized head. But to sue over a love tap?

All I can say is take one look at the kid's face before Tigger "hits" him. That's not a sweet & innocent look there, folks. Junior was up to something. I'm not a violent person, but I'd love to "sucker punch" that little troublemaker for messing with my Tigger.
