  • Top Things to Do on/or After Graduation

    Hey Everybody!

My best friend will be graduating from high school in a few days and I wanted to compile a list of fun or interesting things to do on or after graduating day. So, I need your help! What fun things did you do on graduation day or shortly after. Are there any traditions? They can be funny, serious, whatever. I just though it would be a good idea. So if you could help, I'd appreciate it! I can think of a few that come to mind from grad day, but they really weren't very creative or funny. I know all Disney fans have BIG imaginations. So use them!

Thank You! I appreciate any input at all!

I graduated from high school 20 years ago -- too long ago for me to remember much!

When I graduated (4 years ago... I can't believe it was that long ago!) I took a week and headed down to the beach everyday and wrote in a journal and read lots of really good "discovering yourself" books. I still think it was one of the best times in my life... I learned alot about myself, life and love all in that week. Sounds crazy, I know, but I was going through ALOT and taking that week just for myself was the best thing I ever did.

        TP the school!!
        (kidding )
        Good morning, son
        In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
        It was pain
        Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

High scool was almost 15 years ago for me. Seems like a lifetime ago. A lifetime I don't care to revisit anytime soon either, but I digress.

I do remember on graduation day we had rehersal in the morning, then my mom took my best friend and I out for lunch. After graduation, our entire class was bussed to a "secret location" for the all-night party. It was a dance club and they had all sorts of activities planned for us like a casino, basketball, volleyball, dancing, other games. Plus there were prizes you could win with the "money" you won at the casino.

One thing I'll never forget about graduation was that my best friend and I were the only two int he entire class that got away with wearing shorts under or cap & gown. If we got caught we would've been majorly busted. We were practically ordered that guys had to wear dress pants and girls had to wear a skirt or dress. So we totally got away with something major... and lived to tell it. LOL!

My school was turned into a casino and such for the all-night party. That is what I did. I took a lot of pictures and put them in an album. I look at them when I think I miss high school (I only graduated last year) and then I realize how much I have moved on, the new things I have done, etc. As much as you love it or might hate it.. there will be thing(s) you will miss but for the most part just try to create something you can look back at fondy and remember. I'm also with Meg on reading. Try something different, read a different book or one a new topic to you. Just have fun.

By all means, get out and DO SOMETHING CRAZY! This is the last time in your life you will be completely free of obligations/bills. Backpack around Europe, drive across America, go see South America... SOMETHING. And take your time doing it too... spend minimum two weeks, preferably a month.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Thanks for all the replies! I'll be sure to pass them along. Thanks! More suggestions are always welcome. We need some excitement around here, keep the stories coming!
