  • Pinkeye vs Allergy eye

I think I may have it again! My eye is all goopy and starting to stick together! What is the diiference between pinkeye and allergy eye? I did babysit yesterday for a lil guy who had pinkeye (I also watch him a few days every week).
I sure hope I don't have it! I have a 3 day babysitting job starting tomorrow!

Goopy/crusty usually signals pink eye. Pull down your lower eyelid. Is it pink and irritated or is it full-on fire engine red? Allergy eye comes and goes, pink eye is all the time. Is it itchy? Both eyes, or just one? Be very careful not to cross-contaminate from one eye to the other. If you must rub your eye, be sure to wash your hands.I'm not a doctor or an RN, but was a nurse's aide for a school district. You'll need to call your doctor for a true diagnosis. If you do have pinkeye, you probably won't be able to babysit because it's super contagious (as you may have just found out!)

Thanks! I am going to go and look at the lower eyelid now. Luckily I have the eye antibiotics. Those kids and I share all the germs! I have gotten everything from pink eye to the stomach flu from them. They are pretty much my 2nd family!

I had it two weeks ago. Go to a doctor immediatly. And most doctors reccomend you dont use the same eye medication for different cases of pink eye, they may need to be different. In my case, he presribed one and i ended up being allergic to it

allergy eyes are just itchy and dry...not goopy or swollen...at least that's how mine get, but not just my eyes, my nose, throat and inner ears....

When I went with my daughter for her eye I was told that any sticky goo meant infection and needed drops. I also don't think allergy eye is worse in he morning like a pinkeye is.
