  • Diet Coke Plus !?!?

I was roaming around the supermarket the other day and my eyes caught hold of something new and shine - Diet Coke Plus. I was curious so I got closer and this is what I read:

Each 8-ounce serving of Diet Coke Plus provides 15% of your Daily Value for Niacin and vitamins B6 and B12, and 10% for Zinc and Magnesium.
Along with that type of information it also claims to be hydrating as well. But I'm just not too happy with this type of product and the ideas it might foster in some people - mainly that they would drink this under the impression that it is healthy and better for them.

I don't really care much for soda, so I won't be buying this stuff anyway. Yet how about the parents who see these claims on the packaging and start giving their kids more of this soda instead of water or juice? For me it doesn't matter how many good things they add to soda, it is still a once in a while kinda thing for me - but there are many who drink this stuff everyday.

Wow healthy soda, I'm in!!!! (just kidding, I only drink Diet Pepsi anyway).

I don't think its a good idea, like you said, some parents may think its a green light to let their kids drink soda. My kids don't drink soda and will not be allowed to for years.

Is soda drinking really falling off that they need all these new flavors, or is it that the competition is so great they need to have the newest thing?

    A little piece of heaven

Bleh. I won't go near Diet Colas.

I'll stick with Envigra. Now, there's a good, healthy soda! It's mostly the only soda I'll drink these days.

My sister is hooked on those Envigas. I tried one and it was ok, although in order to obtain weight loss benefits (which my sis is trying to do) you have to drink three a day - and it isn't a given that you will lose weight drinking Envigas.

Confession: When I saw the title, I thought "Diet Coke plus Rum? Woohoo!".

It's hard to understand why they keep coming out with different varieties when stores only give them so much shelf space no matter what.

I'm a green tea lover. I'm not really using it to benefit my weight loss, though. After all, three a day is only 60-100 calories if you're lucky. It has some other benefits though. Plus, green tea. Yum.

Nothing is as healthy as a TALL glass of water.

Or as unhealthy, depending on the source of the water.

This is just a marketing ploy IMO. I really don't like diet anything.

I prefer to take my vitamins with a regular COKE!

I was speaking in the ideal sense. I didn't think anyone would go and get a tall glass of gutter water or anything....

I dunno. Just mix in a little bit of Crystal Lite and you have some mighty tasty sewer water!

We got some the other day. It tastes just like regular Diet Coke (which we drink anyway).

I don't think it's giving me any other "nutrition", but if I can get a couple more vitamins with my regular Diet Coke, what's the problem?

                            True.

Ever been south of the border???

Or looked at tap water with a magnifying glass???

Those little white things swirling around in it are traces of toilet paper. Not to mention the fluoride, chlorine and other stuff that the water companies put in it for our "benefit".

                            Eeeeck...

I think Soda companies are using "healthier" terms because that is the only way they can compete. Of course, soda will never be healthy for anyone.
