  • What do you believe?

Sorry for the depth of this post but I have got to thinking and...

I have heard many times that the sign of the times are Earthquakes and unusual weather paterns and the such... What do you believe, do you think the end of the world is comming or is this a natural and passing phase?

If its the end of the world than bring it on! To quote Indiana Jones 3 " my soul is prepared, how is yours"!

I don't see earthquakes as god condemning anyone else. It's just nature. It's us, the human race, who build buildings that can't take the shake. It's us humans who told each other to fear everything...

    I believe there's something out there, but I don't believe it's a vengeful presence...

I don't think I want to have anything like this discussed on Micechat! No offense...but, find a philosophy board for that!

I tend to separate the two.

Earthquakes and weather phenomenons are all part of nature and it happens.

I believe any natural disasters/occurrances are reminders that we are really powerless when it comes to matters of nature. No matter how big of bombs, or other war technology we have, nature is the ultimate power, and can level us more quickly and efficiently than any man-made form of destruction.

Amen Disneyphile! I have been reading about the volcanos they are monitoring in North America and the power that would be unleashed if one were to blow is mind boggling. It is comforting to think about actually, because we would be so helpless, there is no point in even worrying about it. Life is unpredictable and beyond our control, so enjoy it while you can.

The world is in a state of chaos at the moment, no doubt about that... but its far from the end... lets move on

On that note...anyone watch that movie that was on the Weather channel or one of the Discovery channels about the Yellowstone Caldera?

The movie just served as a reminder that there's really nothing we can do even if we can predict it. As humans we are powerless to the force of nature.
