  • Rear ended tonight while doing the right thing

So my lease was up on my car last week, and I work under 1 1/2 miles from work, so the other manager in my office takes me home.

On the way home tonight we were driving and we were coming to a cross walk and saw a mother and her 2 y/o daughter waiting to cross the street, as we approached my manager (who was driving) said it is wrong when people don't stop and let people cross the street so we stopped to let her go, but the car behind us was not paying attention and slammed into us going at least 30-35 mph. Needless to say we both got slammed around good, I immediately got out of the car to see if the lady and her kid were ok (she was about to take her foot off the curb) I had this image of us running them over. They were fine.

But now my head feels like it is going to explode (have such a headache), the doctor said he did not feel it was life threatening, and I am sure we will both feel like crap in the AM. But at least no one was critically hurt or worse.

The guy who hit us did not apologize, he said he was not paying attention, he was out of it himself as i think he hit his head on the steering wheel.

The difference between "involvement" and "commitment" is like a eggs and ham breakfast: The chicken was "involved" - the pig was "commited"!

OMG, That totally sucks Awinner. Was anyone else with you in the car? How's your car? Is the guy going to pay for the damage?

Those kind of accidents really make me sad. People who aren't paying attention at the wheel are my biggest frustration, for that very reason. The folks who are the good, courteous drivers pay for the negligence of others.

Did you call the cops? Good news is there is no way this was your fault- there is no way to get out of the "failure to control your vehicle" ticket- the guy behind you was totally and completely at fault. I am glad everyone is ok!

I've been through it 4x. All I can say is ICE - 20 mins on, 20 mins off.

I hope you didn't hit your head - and I'm very glad you didn't hit anyone else! I hope you don't have any long lasting after effects from this either. Don't be suprised if you have a bit of whiplash and a bruise where the seatbelt was across your stomach. Here's hoping you recover quickly! Being ran into is pretty traumatizing.

War is over if you want it...

Glad to hear you are okay! Gentle hugs to you.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

Sorry that happened to you Andrew!

I too was rear ended this year. I was approaching a yellow light at one of those intersections w/ cameras. I stopped to not risk running a red light and got rear ended by a huge truck behind me. I lost my car (my first ) but managed to avoid injury.

Hope your headache goes away real soon.

Man, that sucks. I got rearended one time but not nearly as hard as you did. Nothing really happened to my car. The other guy's car had a cracked grill though.
