  • The debate rages on...Zombies: Fast vs Slow?

There are 2 types of people in the world. Those who like zombie movies, and those who don't. I do. I love them, every ridiculously implausible scene after the other. But I've decided I really like the faster, more aggressive zombies of today's cinema as opposed to the slow, plodding, stupid ones from previous generations. They're so much scarier.

So, if you enjoy zombie movies now and again, which do you prefer? The classic slow zombies or the new, improved, faster ones?

I really don't think a topic this controversial should be discussed here. I think this needs to be moved to the Litter box ASAP.

...Oh, we're still here? Ok then, I prefer the medium speed zombies in Shaun of the Dead. It's more interesting to have a zombie that is faster than slow, but slower than fast.

I hope I didn't offend anyone with this, but it's how I feel.

I agree with Max Fischer. I like them somewhere in the middle.

In fact, maybe some slow and some fast would be okay too.

I like this idea, why have just one, when you can have two?

In fact, my presidential vote will go to the candidate that supports my choice to have various zombie speeds available?

            Who's with me?

I like slow ones because the fast ones scare the hell out of me.

Just saw 28 Weeks Later last night at a Midnight showing. I'm a Zombie fanatic and the Ultra Fast ones scare the hell out of me. I have a few suggestions for anybody into the Zombie Genre. There are two books out there that are definite musts. "The Zombie Survival Handbook" is the handbook to have if the dead do happen to come back to life, and "World War Z" about the widespread results of a worldwide zombie infection. Both books are written by Max Brooks.
If you are into comics, there is an ongoing series out now called "The Walking Dead" which tells the story of a group of survivors trying to survive a major Zombie infestation and for a little deranged fun, look for for "Marvel Zombies". It's the story of what would happen if the Marvel Superheroes wound up becoming Zombies AND maintaining their intelligence. Very entertaining.

Oh yeah, the Zombie Survival Handbook gives you the in and outs of surviving a Slow movie zombie infestation. If they wind up being fast, You are on your own!!! Just remember, when the Zombie Attack begins.....Follow me to Costco!!

The speed of zombies should vary depending on the dramatic circumstances of the scene.

If it makes it creepier for a mass of slow moving zombies to flow over a pair of teenagers, then by all means go slow.

If its scarier to see a zombie chase a runner down and rip the flesh off their bones, then fast it is.

I still don't understand how there are two different types in the first place. If they are dead, the muscles and blood should flow slowly and make them move the same.
                      Be controversial

                      Be outspoken

                      Be outrageous

                      Just don't be boring

It depends. A Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Zombie can be really exciting under the right circumstances. But when a Zombie takes extra time to look after my needs, it can be very special.
